Do you recognize this dog?

I just got home and found him waiting patiently at my backdoor; I thought it was one of my dogsitting customers, but I’m pretty sure he’s never been here. No tag, but very friendly and obviously trained.

The overhyping of the weight of being Ryder Cup captain is such a silly golf storyline. I was hoping it would fade away with Azinger not around. The captain choses some dinner spots and picks out their shirts.

During normal times, it would not be considered a threat to the president if a member of his cabinet wanted to run for president at the end of his second term…

Can’t really blame ‘em as Vikes try to squeeze by w/ mere $432.6M as latest annual nat’l revenue sharing check.
They do have ticket sales & local ad sales to help out.

Whether this sort of thing is due to a desire to protect Trump or a fear of reporting anything negative about Trump, it happens all the damn time. I never, ever want to be lectured by national, institutional journalists about their essential role in our democracy again. bsky.app/profile/jfal...
Tedious to point this out, but:

- When a tongue-tied Biden said "President of Mexico" instead of "Prez of Egypt," it was a several day story.

-Hours after Trump says whoever appointed J Powell made a big mistake (it was him), the episode appears not to merit a story on any national-media sites.

There's one last argument: that by hammering Trump again and again over his falsehoods, claims of ignorance, etc, the Times would somehow "expose" him to the general public. At this point, I think those who want to know, know, and those who refuse to see can't be convinced, esp by the NYT.

An I the only person alarmed that the U.S. military thinks a “show of presence” of heavily armed soldiers in a park in Los Angeles where kids play soccer is just fine and dandy?
Military documents confirm that the LA operation today was a “show of presence” intended to send a message to LA residents about the power of the federal government.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.

If Trump was actually deporting the migrant criminals he campaigned on his immigration policies would probably still be relatively popular. But he knows they aren't nearly as common as he sold the rubes, and ICE would much prefer to dress for war and grab a 48 year old mowing the lawn at an IHOP.

This is a really important point. Trump is losing most of the cases he's losing because no statute directly authorizes what he's doing.

Instead of complaining about judges doing their jobs, congressional Republicans could, you know, *pass legislation* to give Trump the authorities he's claiming.
Lots of Trump’s illegal things could be legal if Congress did them, and Republicans have control of Congress, but they’d rather help the self-described king/dictator be a king/dictator
