I wrote about the rise of prediction markets, which have FINALLY made it possible for crypto bros to cosplay as war profiteers while getting fleeced by actual war profiteers
How Prediction Markets Turned Life Into a Dystopian Gambling Experiment
What are Polymarket and Kalshi? Why are they taking over the world? And is there anything stopping actors on these platforms from exploiting almost everything and everyone?

NEW: For more than a century, a smelter spewed lead dust over Omaha.

For decades, the government cleaned it up.

But a shift in guidance from the Trump administration may stop thousands more from potential cleanup, exposing families to the harmful metal.

The EPA Was Considering a Massive Lead Cleanup in Omaha. Then Trump Shifted Guidance.
The Trump administration says it will speed cleanups, but residents of the largest residential lead Superfund site worry fewer properties will be remediated.

Tyson is closing a Nebraska plant that employs 3,200 workers in order to “right-size” its business.

The meatpacking giant paid its CEO $22.7M last year, 525x its median employee's pay.

It also spent $196M in stock buybacks to reward shareholders.

Textbook corporate greed.
