Your first year of a PhD program, they give you a methods class explaining why not to do this study.

When you become a faculty member, they make you submit proposed studies to an ethics board to make sure you never do this study.

Tim’s right, and I don’t think we’re talking enough about the tremendous restraint that has been shown in Minnesota against an external force that desperately wants to create content about Minnesota being a place of chaos because they’re standing up for non-white people.
State investigators have been on the scene in North Minneapolis.

I know you’re angry. I’m angry. What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.

But Minnesota will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace.

Don’t give him what he wants.

Koh: Trump has now spent $30 billion from the last bill for 10,000 more I.C.E. Agents that are going to be on the streets. That $30 billion would cover all the ACA subsidies for a year. It would eliminate all co-pays for prescription drugs for people from a year, and eliminate all medical debt.

The main bank account holding revenue from the Venezuelan oil sales is located in Qatar.

“There is no basis in law for a president to set up an offshore account that he controls so that he can sell assets seized by the American military,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

A couple of days ago, Wrecktangle Pizza in Minnesota raised $83k to donate food and other essentials to immigrants and other people trapped in their homes.

Very soon, ICE showed up at their door.

The agents got chased off by employees and locals, though not before dropping some tear gas.

This is the core truth of the Trump Era -- this, and the pathological refusal of US elites to face up to & acknowledge it.
Despite years of "economic anxiety" discourse, the core drivers of Trump support have always been bigotry and misinformation.

“Trump does not see himself as a constitutional officer. … Trump is an anti-constitutional figure — whose very presence on the American political scene is nothing less than a full-spectrum assault on republican government and democracy.”

Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
"“They specifically asked me if I knew where the Hmong families lived on my street & in the neighborhood.” Lugert-Thom responded, “I don’t know anything about that” & she said they then asked, “Well, what about the Asian families?”"

"“I was a bit shaken & a bit shocked of what I was asked to do.”"
A St. Paul resident says federal officers knocked on her door and asked her to identify Hmong and Asian households in her North End neighborhood last week.
