To be clear, this is a CRIME and everyone involved in this (and the dozens, if not hundreds/thousands, of other illegal "deportations") needs to be prosecuted and punished to the maximum extent of the law, which they have broken.

The single most powerful, ideologically and operationally, tool we have in opposition is people that have considered what the government can do to us and decided that we don't give a shit and will take it on the fuckin chin if it even minimally complicates them harassing someone who can't take it

This is where people snatched up in Trump's occupation of Minneapolis and Saint Paul are being sent.

After the first death at the notorious "tent city" at Fort Bliss, advocates warned ICE that detainees reported extreme physical and sexual abuse at the facility.

Within weeks, two men were dead.

ICE are running around in the streets using facial recognition on random people and telling anyone filming them they're a domestic terrorist and Democrats solution is to equip every ICE agent with their very own body-worn surveillance camera

Staff at a Twin Cities yarn store put together a pattern for a red knit “Melt the ICE” hat inspired by the Norwegian resistance.

They thought they would attract 10 people to a weekly knit-along.

They’ve sold 70,000 copies, raising more than $250k for immigrant aid groups.

I remember feeling relief a few months ago to find only a few Flock cameras in Minneapolis over at the U of M.

Since then, the number has exploded, especially in high-diversity neighborhoods.

Now it seems likely ICE is using these to track people.

Opposing ICE happens at every scale and for every person and every risk tolerance. If you cannot patrol, can you donate to a grocery fund? Volunteer at a food bank? Support your neighbors who are patrolling, watch kids, take people to the doctor, hang a sign in your window? All of it is the fight
It's not just "stand up to ICE when you see them," it's building many vast networks of support and trust to
- create safe spaces
- protect schools
- get kids TO school
- check on neighbors
- deliver groceries
- help pay the rent
- let people know of danger
- feed the helpers, too!
- and on and on

Judge Mendoza, concurring, would additionally hold Noem's action also violated the APA given Noem's explicitly racist comments in vacating TPS.

The immigrant shredder we built as a bipartisan exercise in good governance is unfortunately voice-activated, specifically the voice of anyone saying “don’t shred immigrants.” If non-immigrants don’t want to be shredded, they should avoid making the shredder feel bad. I won’t vote to turn it off btw

While the left might screech about dismantling the giant robot we’ve built to shred immigrants, I am both proud of the improvements my fellow centrists and I have made to its immigrant-shredding capabilities and secure in the knowledge that nobody will ever flip the big switch that lets it shred me
