ABC's coverage of this bill is moronic. Nothing of substance about democracy and fascism. Focused only on individuals bickering inside the Coalition and what that means for the pointless horse race. We are so poorly served. Need Al Jazeera to start doing domestic Ausopl coverage

I've been pushing a great documentary from 2023 call A Disturbance in the Force, about how the Holiday Special happened. It's worth hunting down.

Everyone involved in the publication and promotion of this book should be embarrassed. It's not a "harsh truth" that COVID mitigation was a mistake, it's ghoulish and false.

Washington Post dismantled the platform Jamal wrote on. Discarded the fellowship they created in his memory.

They fired me unjustly for speaking the truth.

But I’ll never stop talking about my friend, writer, and amazing human, Jamal Khashoggi.

RIP, Jamal.

Hugely recommend this video if you need an hour of hearing reasonable people address how cognitive dissonance has formed around Covid, but the funniest part is when the interviewer asks how you talk to denialists to avoid triggering it and the multi-specialist psychologist is like…fuck if I know.
Ah, yes; as we all know, when you say something objectively wrong and someone corrects you, that is, in fact, "word choice policing."

I got a lot out of this recent video with @michael-hoerger.bsky.social about the psychology behind people's defensiveness re: Covid.

NEW: ChatGPT allows Google to index chats users share using the Share functionality - presumably misinterpreting "make this chat discoverable". The result? Frank admissions about sex lives and drug dependencies. My latest for @fastcompany.com www.fastcompany.com/91376687/goo... tip @techmeme.com

Something to keep in mind: “These findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 infection damages the CD8+ T cell response, an effect akin to that observed in earlier studies showing long-term damage to the immune system after infection w/ viruses such as hepatitis C or HIV.” #COVID

Finally! I built & tested an open-source concept model air purifier that should be good for schools. Lots of air (CADR > 420 CFM), quiet (<45 dBA), uses <9 W, and ‘cause it’s wall-mounted & down-blowing, it moves air in the right direction & takes up no floor space. Always check my ALTs🧵⬇️

Dear ALP, you’ve had a great night. But, remember, 12-months ago you were in oblivion. Mainly because you weren’t being brave enough with your agenda.

Get on with taxing multi-nationals, progressing carbon targets, implementing gaming reforms, gender equity, housing affordability.
