Me to me re: this weekend

I had a really nice first date this morning but mid way through I realized I just was not feeling it. I wanted him to stop talking so I could go home and put on a big fuzzy sweater and slippers.

Church sign I saw tonight:

Jesus's Lord and King

It makes sense in one sort of way, but not the one they were going for.

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean.

I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.
We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->

Ossoff, I wrote postcards for you, you fucker. Voting against trans people? All these dems on the list SUCK.
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Well. I dumped my instant grits into my tea mug on top of the tea bag instead of into my bowl. So that’s how my morning is going so far.

I’m just bumming around in athleisure but I feel cute today.

When I first got stationed in Italy in '92, I remember I would get off of those overseas flights feelings like I'd slept in an ashtray. And that was sitting in the non-smoking section.
The fact that people used to smoke on airplanes is absolutely WILD.
It’s crazy that people used to be able to just smoke cigarettes wherever they wanted

Okay, the tree has been hauled down from upstairs and assembled. AND I remembered to put the tree skirt down after I got the stand together, so I wasn't crawling around under the whole tree trying to get it in place like I usually do.

No trimmings yet, but it looks pretty lit up in the corner.

It honestly drives me insane if I think about it too much, how after all the news stories about Biden health concerns the whole country just seems completely uninterested in why our current President is constantly getting IVs and is obsessed with trying to cover up the fact that he gets them.

Had to put on the big sweater an hour ago. Now I've wrapped a wool scarf around my head and neck. I love winter and I hate being cold and also still have hot flashes. I can be comfortable for maybe 14 minutes at time.

I am sitting here with my morning cup of tea, wiping tears of hysterical laughter from my eyes.

I LOVE Claire's recaps and this one is a fucking treasure.

Read it, read it now. Bookmark it for when you are cranky.
I'm finally starting season 2 of "Finding Mr. Christmas," the Hallmark reality show where the most wholesome, non-toxic men in America compete for the chance to be a Christmas movie star (somehow a real job), judged by a gay man and Barbra Jean from "Reba"

it's the greatest show you're not watching

I have just discovered decorative toilet floor bolt covers and now I have to decide what kind of cute animal toilet floor bolt cover I want. Dinosaur? Turtle? Whale? Elephant? Unicorn?

I had coconut macadamia crusted fish for dinner tonight and the house smelled a little fishy so I lit a candle which smells a little too perfumey and let me tell you the combined odor in here right now is not great.

I read this a few years ago and I still think about the characters from time to time! It's a good one.

I drove 10 hours home to Nashville from Florida today and I am so so so so excited to get into my own bed with my own pillow.

11 hour drive back home tomorrow. It will all be worth it to be back in my own bed.

I am really, really fortunate to have good family. They don't really get me and I don't really get them, but they are good. And 3-4 days is about all I can take with them.
