Well. I dumped my instant grits into my tea mug on top of the tea bag instead of into my bowl. So that’s how my morning is going so far.

My son (29) is here for the holiday and this is our 2nd year doing Thanksgiving at the Indian restaurant near me and it’s just the best idea. We have (store bought) pie for later and plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

Did a little yard work and had to stop and pose by my gorgeous fall foliage.

1988, definitely days of yore.
17 yr old me and my date ready to go to the 1988 senior prom. I'm wearing a long blue dress with some kind of ridiculous sleeve thing happening, as was the custom in the 80s. I'm smiling, my date is trying to blue steel. Although we both went to high school in Florida, 25 years later when I got divorced and moved to Nashville, he was the assistant manager at the Publix down the street. Weird.

Watching you stare into space in the tidy rows of the vegetable garden, ostensibly working hard while actually doing the worst job possible, I think you are a small irritating purple thing and I would like to see you walk off the face of the earth because you are all that's wrong with my life and I need you and I claim you.
