The thing that gives me hope about SUPERMAN (2025) is that Gunn understands that the goofy parts of superheroes--the pets in little capes, the brightly colored costumes with underwear on the outside, the bowl cuts--are not barriers to the appeal of these characters, they are *part* of the appeal.
