Now THIS is what a customer-centric app is.

Most banks keep sending out warning emails about impersonation and scams.

Any app can implement this capability with a little coding + backend work (assuming their BE sensible enough): and yet Monzo is the first one I’ve heard do it.

The carrot is that UBI will be great for GDP and the stock market because it's great for business thanks to creating new customers and widening the base of those with discretionary income to spend. It will also lead to more peace and less crime.

The stick is that UBI will likely avoid guillotines.
Hi Scott. Whats your best elevator pitch for wealthy white Americans for UBI? Thanks

Log scales are for quitters
On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked,

"If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?"

Allow our scaled diagram to explain...

Ignorant question: why is requiring ID a controversial recurring issue in the US? In most countries I know, having an ID card (not passport or drivers licence) is nearly universal and also necessary for things like opening a bank account. And voting of course. Do Americans not have/need IDs?

The degree to which people romanticize farming is inversely proportional to their degree of actual proximity to farming and farmers

This is basically a mathematical law

This is a reminder that you can oppose 1) antisemitism, 2) the Gaza genocide, 3) the October 7 attacks, and 4) the current assault on universities, at the same time, and with no contradiction.

This thread is basically "America was better when our pale brethren listened to metal, rather than Rogan" and it's an amazing bit of insight.
You hate your job?
Girlfriend not thick?
Money funny?
Don’t like your parents?

God gave you leather, Nordic symbols, and guitar center

Why are you not making punk rock????

(1) your haters are trash
(2) you’re a baller, a true queen
(3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

Oh! She has! In at least one interview she talked about the briefings she's received on counter-intelligence. She has made music videos to click tracks instead of audio so it wouldn't leak.
Taylor Swift is a legitimate security expert like almost nobody in the world. She has to be. She's the target.
I just want a serious journalist to ask actual Taylor about InfoSec. She’s sufficiently impressive I wouldn’t be surprised if she gave a cogent answer. Like Guy Goma in reverse.

Amazing how war clarifies the macrofinancial mind
FT on defence: “Unlike in … the green transition, it is not possible to “leverage” small amounts of public funding to get private finance to do the rest. Too much financial engineering will send an unmistakable signal of weakness.”

Sums up the failure of the green transition nonetheless.

Yes! Watching people who have always refrained from criticizing, or even supporting, Israel become apoplectic with rage over the USA's treatment now of Russia/Ukraine has been quite something to behold. I'll need to find a more diplomatic way to say two-faced, hypocritical pricks.
