They said it again. Someone said the thing again.

"Researchers have already studied the possibility of CEOs becoming an endangered species in the age of AI."

"[...] would say 80 percent of the work that a CEO does can be replaced by AI."

CEO Who Bragged About Replacing Workers With AI Now Distressed That AI Will Replace His Job Too
Last month, CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski boasted that he hadn't hired anyone in a year because of AI. Now he's worried about his own job.

What’s crazy is people have been waving a red flag about Substack profiting on health disinformation for years. It was actually the original problem before Substack courted and began profiting from Nazism. I don’t get why anyone who does work on the information ecosystem can justify publishing there

Getting people to take up this attitude is the point in hamfisted system prompt stuffing at xAI

An answer, confirmed not only by human minds but also AI, would be solar and wind. Solar and wind guided by AI systems is already in practice in China. We can't do it

This is "Don't Trust Wikipedia 2.0"
I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

Could we do this? Not really, but there are great strides being made by stuff like Deep Mind

Is the goal of the US government to actually do this? Absolutely not. This is a way to secure resources from RAM to GPUs to the energy to run them to set us backwards by 40 years of progress. 🤦

China wins
Am I nuts, or does this say we'll put all of our scientific papers into a big data warehouse, let a bunch of people working on"AI" train some new LLMs, and then magic will happen. The AI will start generating and testing hypotheses until it solves humanities problems? What a load of crap. Money grab

🐛 Security classes now return 401 on errors instead of 403

They include sensible WWW-Authenticate headers to stay spec-compliant 🤓

If your code depends on 403 errors, you can override this: fastapi.tiangolo.com/how-to/authe...

Most importantly it's beyond time to recognize twitter is a platform for paid political protest

Those blue checks get pennies from promoted replies made by blue checks and nauseam with the whole thing being kicked off by a farm possibly made mostly of trafficked individuals

See: loomer and catturd
Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Consumer hardware can do photo realistic image edits and mashups right now. It's a matter of time before full generation comes to Adobe and we're back in the "age of photoshop where no image can be trusted"

Sora 2 tier video probably next year
The big issue is a lot of these models will likely become open-source and runnable on consumer hardware; even when the bubble collapses it probably won’t prevent this tech from being a thing that is used in the world (maybe it becomes less mass available in an app).

We can do all of this stuff yesterday.
Fun example: Musk pitched the idea of PowerWall so that every home could supplement off-grid power and also feed back in instances like freezes in Texas, cooling, etc

And Musk sucked at it. Anker and Jackery are cheaper, more efficient, less error prone, etc
We can remodel the economy practically overnight because we do in fact have the technology. We don't need the fucking nvidia bubble, we don't need boring apes, we don't need fucking generative AI shit. We need power. What we want is possible immediately.
