The point, which you seem to have blown by, is that if Dem candidates had the integrity to champion the values of dem voters, they would win more.

Kowtowing to centrists is a losing strategy; it’s time Dems learned it.

I find it impossible to blame *voters* for having courage of their convictions.

here's Trump's full racist rant about MN's Somali community: "Somalians ripped off that state for billions. And they contribute nothing... Ilhan Omar is garbage. She's garbage. Her friends are garbage. These aren't people that work... They come from hell & do nothing but bitch. We don't want them"

Denver confidence based numbers:

Higher confidence forecast than usual. After 9a totals will be the wild card in Denver.

Airport/official obs will probably come in 2-3" lower than downtown.

This is what frustrates me so much about these articles: Propagating the narrative that large numbers of kids are faking disabilities is just going to result in a world where disabled people are *even more* scrutinized when they ask for accommodations!
My kids go to a "rich" public school. My daughter is 7 and cannot read; she is a sweet, caring, intelligent child, but if you spend a moment with her it is clear that she has ADHD an order of magnitude more serious than what you think of when you hear "ADHD." Anybody questioning her IEP can fuck off
"Rich kids are gaming disability accommodations to gain an unfair advantage" is actually very different from "America has an extra-time-on-tests problem" — and the author hasn't proved that either! Rich kids might just be more likely to be diagnosed.

This is DEFCON 1 priority, y'all. Call your senators, reps, call your friends and tell them to call their senators and reps about this. Call your grandma and tell her to call her senators and reps about this.

What we have here will be *gone* if these bills pass.
Congress is attempting to fast track KOSA and more than a dozen bills that would restrict internet access, censor speech and increase surveillance under the guise of protecting children.

Committee hearings begin tomorrow.
Lawmakers to consider 19 bills for childproofing the internet
KOSA is back, along with more than a dozen other bills that will erode free speech and privacy in the name of protecting kids.

I don’t know what the right way to cover this madness is, and I recognize that what’s being attempted here is journalistically correct dry understatement, but it’s a bit too under-.

Anybody whose concern boils down to "it dilutes the pool" is a eugenicist and should be ignored.

Extra time costs us teachers nothing and SpEd/504 Accommodations have allowed thousands of kids to become college-educated adults and amazing contributors to society.
The administration is extorting universities for billions of dollars and attempting to destroy free speech, academic freedom, and independent thought but the Atlantic talked to a few professors at elite universities who think the problem is that some students need a little extra time on exams

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?

TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.

Okay so not only is this a horrible fascist overreach, but entirely unworkable. *Every* piece of course material? Having now experienced the pace of getting just the briefest outline of a course submitted (a year in advance!) my only response is lol nice try, no one's getting anything done again.

The ex-Honduran Prez Trump PARDONED was found guilty of trafficking more than 400 tons (!!!) of cocaine into the U.S. His co-conspirators used AK-47s, grenade launchers, & AR-15s to protect their loot.

So why the order to "kill them all" on a single drug boat? And why was Hegseth involved at all?
