Very easily. Every person in there is miserable and doing an impression of what they think is a cool and self-actualized person looks like. It must feel like being surrounded by ghosts

The scene now at Lafayette and Howard, diagonal to the ICE garage which activists remain camped out in front of on both sides of the building.

For software developers: there's currently a highly sophisticated hacking group targeting developers with backdoored coding skills tests. They typically take the form of large source codes specific to your skillset. Please email any suspicious code to me on: [email protected]

Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

"writing code to solve a problem" used to have "understanding the problem" as a prerequisite. but vibecoding allows solution-shaped objects to be produced without any of the hard-won understanding. beware of solution-shaped objects.

very occasionally in fleeting moments I think I could be a politician (i would never want to do this; you have to go to too much shit) but if i were asked a question this dumb a third as often as Mamdani is I'd be doing the Tim Heidecker "SHUT THE FUCK UP" thing on national tv
WELKER: What is your message to Jewish New Yorkers who feel you won't be tough enough in your response to antisemitism?

MAMDANI: That I am looking forward to being the next mayor and fulfilling the commitment I've made to Jewish New Yorkers to not only protect them but to celebrate and cherish them

With Xbox you can turn the worst operating system into the worst console or handheld. And that's a good thing. And you only have to support a genocide in the process. Also, you no longer need to use your mouse, far and away the fastest and most efficient human interface device ever created.

it’s hard to talk politics anymore because the natural response to everything is “oh they should be killed” but you’re not allowed to say it. it’s more illegal than open pedophilia

Please stop telling me you're not surprised. We've been the leading publication in abuse of AI and porn for years. The newsworthy thing here is the exposed back end shows, definitively, people are turning ordinary people into AI porn at scale. You're pontificating to the wrong people.

The really cool thing about this is that somebody open sourced a custom firmware for Nest so you can decouple it from Google’s backend, and continue to use it remotely. I set it up and it took like 5 minutes. nolongerevil.com

Can confirm, Helium is great. I used to recommend Thorium, but Helium seems to get much more timely updates, which is really important for protecting yourself online!
anyway while i have your attention i wanna share helium.computer

helium is a bullshit-free web browser developed by me and @jj.ax. it's fully open-source, truly ad-free and privacy-first, and also lightweight. it gets out of your way, which is how a web browser should behave imo
Helium Browser
The web browser made for people, with love. Best privacy by default, unbiased ad-blocking, no bloat and no noise. Fully open source.
