I don't know about haunted places yet (beyond the realm of souls itself which is located at the bottom of the ocean) but my world of Migica is a d20 type fantasy setting so there's bound to be some places that are.

Is there any reason you couldn't put an external hard drive into an old cassette tape shell and make a retro looking tape player by using a raspberry pi or some such in the main casing?
Could even theme the headphones to those old ones that had the thin sliver headband to go with it.

Gods this came out longer then I was expecting in a simple explanation. I need to go back to working on this story, it's been quite a while since I put any progress into it or the fantasy world.
While I don't have one for my fantasy world setting I'm building yet, my scifi story has several that effect the alien race; the Saurathi.
