I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Imagine your job consisting of the angriest people you've ever seen in your entire life yelling at you 24/7 and throwing bottles of piss in your car while you battle the subzero elements they don't even bat an eyelash about.

Imagine the toll that takes on your psyche. May they never find peace.

Great thread. I will add one thing: it’s very clear that when ICE is going into a new city, it’s not going into a city who hasn’t learned. Organizers are sharing. They start and people already have every license plate number they’ve used and are tracking their vehicles on day one.
They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Oh, via Instagram Jody A. Lee has listed prints and merchandise (including T-shirts!) with her lovely artwork for sale including many book covers for Mercedes Lackey, Madeleine L'Engle, and a ton of the DAW covers I grew up with! I love her color palettes and Art Deco design details!

Do Real Things

Our brain is predictive. It adjusts to its environment. If you feed it social media, news, and entertainment all day every day it starts to use that information to predict how to respond to the world.

Doing real things in the real world is your reset.

I flew ORD to SAV and back this weekend and I was happy to be delayed. I was happy to inconvenience myself & my kid because I thought the air travel cutbacks provided leverage to Dem legislators to push back against the Republican fascist administration. I'm so disappointed in @durbin.senate.gov

Spotify is running recruitment ads for ICE.

A platform built to connect creators and listeners is helping an authoritarian regime build up its secret police force.

But we’re not going to idly accept that. We’re going to make Spotify listen: indivisible.org/cancel-spoti... #CancelSpotify

Whistling when ICE is about to kidnap someone for no reason is incredibly effective. They know what they are doing is wrong and will scatter in the wind when too many witnesses gather.

I bought Hollow Knight in March 2020 for $15. I have 4 saves with just over 300 hours combined, so that works out to 5 cents per hour of entertainment, with the cost amortizing every day.

Lots of Republicans are going to lose their seats over this budget - federal, state, and local.

It will not cost Trump anything, other than finally some House oversight his last 2 years maybe.

Which is how these things always go with Trump - others always pay for his sins.
