It all goes back to taking a 90 million dollar deal with Apple TV and taking a 10 million deal with Roku. You told every sports distributor that your regular season wasn’t worth that much and you got mad when ESPN agreed.

I’m not a Harrison Bader guy but I promise everyone he’s way better than Johan Rojas.
Obviously he was great with the Phillies. But I have to be honest, I don’t believe in his 2025 outcomes. I certainly wouldn’t pay $ or years based on them.

the problem with trying to build a team through a series of individual hyperrational decisions is that you end up with a very efficient very average team
Mike Elias might be the most hyperrational executive in MLB history when it comes to pitching—for better and for worse. He’s been in charge of the Orioles for seven full years now and he’s never: 1) signed a pitcher to a guaranteed multi-year contract; or 2) drafted a pitcher with a top-50 pick.

I'm already seeing some takes, but I'm really not sure we have enough information yet from this offseason to say that players are particularly nervous about a work stoppage — four out of 13 players accepting a QO says more about who was offered the QO than it does anything about next offseason
