I'm reading a book about the history of poutine. To the surprise of absolutely no one who has ever met me, this immediately makes me want poutine. Even though I just had dinner.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Vance doing the “boys will be boys” hand waive to excuse Nazi rhetoric & vile hatred

First, these were men not boys

Second, hold them accountable. That’s how things change

Third, saying we shouldn’t ruin someone’s life for what they say online is rich given they’re deporting people for Kirk posts

New Accessibility Lesson: accessibility software is a power/video hog and needs what is basically a gaming computer to run Zoomtext. I need to run Zoomtext because @Microsoft reduced base font size for Windows 11, which I am required to use due to ending support for Win10. This is not going well.

Someone needs to explain the mechanics of aging to me. I always thought your skin gets tougher as you age but my feet seem to be way more sensitive. Past me: oh look, I stepped on a pin. I should take that out. Today me: ow, I stepped on 3 grains of salt. I need to sit down and maybe need a doctor.

When centrist politicians say "we need to tone down the rhetoric" what they mean is: the left needs to stop asking for better from leaders. After all, we've seen what they say about the flag-touchers and the hotel-yellers. They say it's good and valid.

His excuse is BS.

Even if he obtained a clearance he could refuse to view any intel he wants to criticize the government on. They don’t force you to read.

There is no route out of fascism that involves sacrificing the vulnerable. All that does is tell the fascists that we're willing to turn on each other for the illusion of safety.
A lot of political influencers within the Atlantic/NYT orbit are very, very eager to sell us on the lie that we can get out of fascism by sacrificing trans people.

They will beat that drum even louder as the right weaponizes this tragedy.

They are liars now & they will be liars in the coming days.
