Superb letter from the wonderful folks at TACC.
In response to the laughable fiction presented in the letter sent by Sex Matters to BBC Board members, we have sent a rebuttal letter to clarify the real facts, rather than their Orwellian tale.

Speaking of which, thumping wins for UAE over Papua New Guinea and Tanzania over Namibia, the latter getting revenge for their defeat in the Africa qualifier for the Women's T20 World Cup.
Lots of new followers about to be very disappointed that I'm probably going to post more about the women's emerging trophy than the Ashes.

Cricinfo has ball-by-ball updates for the Abu Dhabi T10 and Nepal Premier League but no live updates for the Women's Emerging Nations tournament which is an ICC event.

All the talk about the 'new dawn' and 'transformation' of Women's cricket globally after the WC Final has lasted just 18 days.

My 87-year-old father, who first campaigned for the Labour Party alongside his mother (a union organiser) in 1945, and was still canvassing for the party as recently as 2019, tore up his membership card earlier this year over immigration. Today's sickening announcements only show how right he was.

My Nan had a fairly extensive care and medication schedule when she came out of hospital. Pages of stuff to do and not do. My sis in her wisdom asked AI to summarise. It was nonsense. Dangerous nonsense. It missed out some vital stuff and added in others. Just read it kids.

Enjoying the Guardian's top 100 Men's Ashes players, I'm trying to work out who the top 10 will be:
Pretty confident of 9: Botham, Bradman, Hobbs, Lillee, McGrath, Smith, Sutcliffe, Warne, S Waugh. Which great am I missing?

And some associates will still be getting a pittance. 10% a decent improvement for Scotland, but won't make much difference for those associates that get less than $50K a year.
The ICC's additional 10% funding for associate nations is welcome. For Scotland that is around $150-200K which is a helpful boost but it's already mostly been eaten up by inflation and devaluation of the US dollar over the last year.

Also great that the ICC recognises that women's cricket can be a growth engine for the game (now India has won the World Cup). Any chance of letting more than 16 teams have a chance of qualifying for it? How about some proper financial support for Thailand and the Afghan refugee teams? Anyone...?
