27 bus drivers died of COVID-19 in London between March and May 2020.
Worth remembering as this unfolds that it was disabled people and people from ethnic minority backgrounds who disproportionately died. Tens of thousands needlessly lost their lives, many who died alone or with just an iPad. Thousands more were left with life changing Long Covid. A true scandal.
BREAKING: The UK’s response to Covid was “too little, too late”, a damning official report on the handling of the pandemic has concluded, saying the introduction of a lockdown even a week earlier than happened could have saved more than 20,000 lives.

Lucy Letby was jailed for less
Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.

Covid inquiry live: ‘Inexcusable’ delays under Johnson led to 23,000 deaths
Lockdowns may have been avoided if Boris Johnson’s government had acted faster, damning report finds

I have zero tolerance for the “well, I guess we have no choice with immigrants but to deport them or lock them up if the paperwork goes wrong”

what is the most effective response here? like, I can just pour out my disgust into each and every free-text comment box but does that actually help or is there a better way?
Help us out, will you?
If, like me, this utter betrayal by Labour is making your blood boil, can I ask you let them know your feelings here www.gov.uk/government/c...

CONTRIBUTE! CONTRIBUTE!
November 20, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Except if you are born here* you are not going to get deported
Asking for a contribution is you are asking the state to support you isn’t evil. It’s what we expect from ppl living here.

This country is made up of some of the dumbest people on Earth
I once got told by a numpty in HR, in a FTSE 100 company, that “temporary leave to remain means you have to leave the country” and I literally had to threaten legal action

We have /not/ actually had an experiment in open borders, like ever in the last hundred years on this island. I would like to start one. Now.

Fuck me but there's some weasel worded questions in there.

"DO YOU NOT AGREE THAT WE SHOULDN'T PERMIT THOSE WHO ARENT HERE WITHOUT A SUITABLE PERMIT THAT EXPRESSLY PERMITS THEM TO NOT REMAIN, TO LEAVE?"
November 20, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Be like Steve
And will now be ignored.

There's no "you can fuck these xenophobic changes into your hat and then you can eat it" option for any of these questions, but I did my best.

Dear Americans,

Once again, I'm not talking about your government
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY in cabinet knows the FIRST THING about immigration and asylum.
November 20, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Hard to argue that this isn't the case
It’s because they have two modes, “assessing actual policies on the merits” and “save our Starmzy” where it’s just about doing rapid rebuttal for the government.

The latest in the Labour move to the right comes in the form of this monstrosity. Pulling out the rug on everyone on a worker (Tier 2) visa who was told they’d have ILR in 5 years. This unfair shift in the goal posts will screw over more than a million people who paid for their visas…
November 20, 2025 at 2:55 PM
Why do you want to reduce asylum seekers? Especially this way?
Funny that Labour are offering a solution to reduce asylum seekers, provide routes to remain through work-study visas, assist in integration, but are still characterised as cruel etc.

VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

right, Immigration Understanders, fuck off for the next couple of hours I have work to do
November 20, 2025 at 2:29 PM
That's fucking reassuring from the fucking Home Office
I suspect based on previous comments from ukgov that they've long since given up being specific and use any random passing word. isn't the first time they've said settled status when they meant visa based ILR, which also doesn't help (they have said the EUSS stuff shouldn't be messed with too)
November 20, 2025 at 2:03 PM
I think Tinder, Bumble and Hinge should come with an immigration status indicator
British citizens who marry foreigners will have to make sure their spouses have a minimum income of £12,500 for 3 to 5 years, or they won't get indefinite leave to remain, the UK government has proposed. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/691edd...
