So a CBS Evening News reporter actually did a pretty solid breakdown of the ICE murder video, talking to a former agent who details all the ways Ross messed up. And yet: It didn’t air on the actual show tonight. CBS did post it to YouTube—and it has nearly 800k views already youtu.be/6ywLEESFDu0?...

Nobody who's not in your head or in your skin understands how hard you're working to stay alive & "functional." Do not take sh*t about your life, appearance, body, career, symptoms, or anything else, from someone who by definition doesn't know what the f*ck they're talking about.

Serious thing for folks to consider is, particularly for marginalized people, Grudges Are Self-Defense. What you may be interpreting as pettiness is probably closer aligned to "You have demonstrated you're not to be trusted." And knowing who REALLY has your back is more important that ever.
I feel in my bones that the wave has started to crash back in and Certain People/Companies who thought they were safe to abandon everyone they’d been pretending to care about will suddenly realize that those people have money/power and I, for one, will be holding a grudge until the end of time 💜

Beautiful piece of writing if you need a good cry ❤️
I wrote a couple of things this year that I'm (still somehow) proud of, so here, for your delectation, is my brief 2025 year-end writing roundup.

First, I managed to earn my second skull from @havehashad.com for "While Your Wife is at a Memorial Service".

WHILE YOUR WIFE IS AT A MEMORIAL SERVICE by Roblin Meeks
She’ll be gone a good hour, maybe two. You’re happy, of course, to watch the kids while she pays respects. Don’t think, obviously; nothing good can come of that. Try to make yourself useful instead. M...

A team of US scientists just cured Alzheimer’s in mice — and there is now hope that the disease can be reversed in humans.

It's unreasonable to ask or demand of a nervous system that has developed specific defenses for specific reasons, to "just be normal."

We didn't develop these patterns just for the hell of it, & easing out of them is going to require us to acknowledge & respect why they exist.

“Do you know how long it takes a working man to save $5,000?”

Approximately 42% of Americans have less than $5000 in savings.

79 years later and this question, defending the working class against unchecked greed and exploitation, hasn’t aged at all.

Big Tech is offering you a Faustian bargain. It promises to remove all the friction from life, to keep you from having to think or study, and the result is your brain will become pudding, you’ll become incapable of creativity or communication. They want to make you a non-person.

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).
Lay article attached:
One of the biggest microplastic pollution sources isn’t straws or grocery bags – it’s your tires
Every few years, the tires on your car wear thin and need to be replaced. But where does that lost tire material go? The answer, unfortunately, is often waterways, where the tiny microplastic particle...

Your annual reminder that the "Christmas with Weezer" EP is unironically one of the greatest collections of Christmas music ever, featuring genuinely moving versions of songs and carols, but is also like, a top 4 Weezer album. It sounds like a Blue album b-side EP!

Another mass shooting, this time at Brown. 2 dead, 8 injured. MAGA & Corporate media waiting to ID the shooter but we know the drill
•Immigrant—> Expand ICE
•Muslim—> Expand Muslim ban
•Black—> Expand prisons & police
•White—> Troubled lone wolf with rough childhood

And still 0 action on gun safety

You're not having trouble being patient w/ & compassionate toward yourself because you're "broken" or "not trying hard enough." It's because you didn't have those behaviors modeled. You're asking yourself to guess at what they look like. OF COURSE it's hard & awkward.

Remember this film? Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas is a quiet little gem of pure Jim Henson magic. It's a 1977 cult classic following two hardworking otters (so nothing like Steve and Brad) entering a talent show to buy each other Christmas gifts!
