it’s a great time to remind everyone to keep your cats indoors. i don’t want to hear that shit about how your cat is desperate to go outside or is used to being out there. i had an outdoor cat i had to bring inside after 13yrs. i know how they are. she lived to 20. they’ll get over it & so will you.

Cosigning this as someone who used to professionally bully insurance companies into approving prior auths. "Wanna bet your license on it?" works more often than not.
To everyone in a similar scenario: the tactic my doctor's office has taught me is to ask, in writing, for:
1) the name, board specialty, and license number of the doctor making the determination the treatment was not medically necessary;
