Yes. As progressive were scorched across the ENTIRE western world.

Inflation still existed. Wealth concentration still got worse. That still equated to less money for normal people, even if we did "better than those other people"

When you see posts and pictures like this (likely to become increasingly frequent in the coming weeks), please be reminded that Trump only ran again to stay out of prison. Dying in office is far preferable, I'd imagine.
This tired, deeply-damaged man is so needy. He has to have references to him being president on his hat, on his shirt, and on a golf-framed placard next to his overcooked cheeseburger he's almost too-out-of-it to eat.

It's probably a great reminder of how cloistered and specialized this online space is when fully 2/3rds of it is freaking out over a journalist most people have never heard of.

A common leftist refrain is that the parties are equivalent and I usually argue "fascists are different from corpo rats" etc, but I think this is probably the actual salient difference between the two:
CNN: What if there are more names connected to the Democratic Party that come out in the files?

I saw someone on my timeline shaming someone else for posting about college football in a time like this.

Folks, if we're going to survive a time like this, we're going to need to avoid burning out from an attitude of 24/7 vigilance and constant outrage.

Let people find joy where they can, please.

My point in the recent fight with Tom it's-the-trans-people's-fault Nicholson was exactly this.

You gotta address the economy for everyday people, not stockbrokers.

Not exactly rocket science, I would think...
Zohran Mamdani ran on freezing the rent in NYC.

Abigail Spanberger ran on supporting fired federal workers and lowering the cost of living in VA.

Mikie Sherrill ran on lowering utility bills in NJ.

Ensuring people can afford to live a decent life is the path forward.

There's an interesting nuance to it, though. The strongest wage growth was in the lower two quartiles, particularly the lowest quartile. This actually ended up repulsing the lower-middle and middle class.

Now is a good time for everybody piling on to go look up Gary's Economics.

Enjoy
His point is well taken, except for being completely wrong.

Harris got scorched by Biden's economy.

Continued polling with independents and black and Latino men says the same thing over and over and over again:

They all vote based on economic opportunity, they haven't had it since COVID, and Trump is making it worse.
Good luck with that. If you think a full-throated defense of transgender people includes stuff about sports, prisons, etc, then don't be surprised if you get another GOP ad like the one that scorched Harris in the Midwest.

It's telling that the pro-regime camp isn't actually defending the regime, but rallying against Ukraine instead.

I wonder if these #hungarians realize they're just sitting in Russia's pocket

As usual for Jack Watling, this is a fabulously data & evidence-rich paper on what the Ukrainian battlefield looks like today. A pivotal role for drones & ground robots—but also for tanks, armour & artillery, each coming into its own at different moments in an assault www.rusi.org/explore-our-...

This is stupid for a bunch of reasons.

1) they literally describe the evolutionary biology for why we behave differently at night, thus implying that we evolved behaviors for the expressed purpose of BEING AWAKE AT NIGHT.

"I brought a thing the Russians shot at my country to the meeting" is pretty badass
Polish FM Radosław Sikorski voiced support for Trump's stance, writing: "I agree with President Trump that without striking enemy territory, you can’t win a war. That’s why Tomahawks must be delivered to Ukraine."

He made the statement from London, where he brought a captured Russian Shahed drone.
