All I have ever heard about every news story from Bill Clinton to drag shows is “it’s awful, parents have to explain this to their children, why can’t we just let kids be kids?”

Now an entire classroom is going to go home to parents trying to explain why their five year friend was taken by the govt
Liam is one of four Columbia Heights, MN school district students who have been taken by ICE in the last two weeks, the school district said. Liam's teacher: “He is so kind and loving, and his classmates miss him. He ... just brightens the room. All I want is for him to be back here and safe.”

Agents of the state paid and empowered by us used this baby as bait to capture his parents and then sent him alone down to a prison in Texas.

His name is Liam and he is five.

The ICE administrative warrant memo gives its officers authority greater than the general warrants used by the English that the 4th Amendment was designed to prevent. It allows law enforcement to enter homes based on "warrants" that they themselves approve, removing any external check.

The absolute restraint being displayed by these people is incredible. We all know what happens if/when the violence is reciprocated - the administration is counting on it. These people are incredibly strong.
look what they’re doing to my beautiful city. this is bovino’s massive armed convoy, rolling through the Wedge, one of the nicest, friendliest residential areas in Minneapolis, doing nothing but posturing, starting fights, and then deploying chemical weapons at a park many children play in

He should be arrested and extradited to Denmark for illegal violations of longstanding treaties. This is sickening.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: “The size of Denmark’s investment in U.S. Treasury bonds, like Denmark itself, is irrelevant.”

I cannot express how it makes me feel to see my Minneapolis neighbors living every day in the line of fire, risking injury, imprisonment, and death at the hands of a tyrant, while these soft, empty suits prance around at Davos and hope that if they pretend hard enough he’ll go away.

Brexit was one of the opening battles - what's happening in the US right now is an even bigger battle, but I personally do not believe it's the biggest we'll face.

If the US splinters & one "side" aligns with right-wing, pro-RU European parties, then we will see the war.

Just my opinion.
We just visibly are not a country where either the public or the political class has clocked that every couple of months a member of the defence establishment goes 'there is a war going on and we are, at present, losing'.

Not a god damn word about NATO. What are they so fucking afraid of??
One year since his inauguration, it’s still Trump first, America last.

From protecting pedophiles and giving massive tax breaks to billionaires, to destroying our economy while profiting off the presidency, Trump has done nothing to make life better for the American people.

I’ve been writing Popular Information for 8 years, and this is one of the most important stories I’ve ever published. This is a humanitarian crisis that has gone unreported.
ICE has stopped paying for detainee medical treatment
ICE halted payments in October, and the situation will persist for at least several more months

Half the United States has been begging world leaders to stop kissing Trump's ass and protecting him from his own insanity for nearly a decade now.
I think a big part of the disconnect here is that a lot of Yanks are surprised that the rest of the world is just now realizing things are as batshit as they are.
like i feel like Yanks do not get how utterly batshit the moment we are currently in is

I think a good strategy for your non-leftist social media presence (ie everywhere but here) is to give this photo - the remains of Danish soldiers returning in coffins after being killed in America's war in Afghanistan - as wide an audience as possible. Remind people who we're betraying

i don't really mean that in an optimistic sense, i mean in a literal sense, some of the reporting has said that trump asked JSOC to put together a plan and they have straight up told him "no, that would be illegal", and his response is what you'd expect from him, specifically, being told no

fwiw, i think part of the reason that trump's in such a hysterical panic about greenland is because he's been told behind closed doors that this is a line he cannot cross by people who can actually enforce that.
it's not, like, ha-ha funny, but one of the funnier things about trump's greenland obsession is that it might be the one thing trump is doing that unites almost every single bloc in the republican coalition — against him. everyone hates this shit, everywhere.

You know, as someone who did grad school work on Arctic warfare, reformed DoD policy and readiness on the Arctic on the hill, and even advised OSD on Arctic policy matters….the Arctic is supposed to be the place where all of NATO is in firmest agreement. To call this insanity is to undersell it.

Trade wars are about causing and enduring pain.

The US can do the former, but the public has absolutely no appetite for the latter over an issue as clearly invented as Greenland.

This is the kind of stunt you can try at 58% Presidential approval and on an issue the public supports. This ain't it.

Oh my god, yes.

And they're still pulling the classic "ignore our own problems and blame them all on the US" gambit. Let's see how that goes for them in their upcoming elections...
Thanks to all the Europeans who have learned from American media to blame the American Left no matter what the problem is, you guys rule
