C'est intéressant ce que le patron de Larian raconte de l'utilisation faite de l'IA Gen chez eux. Cela correspond à ce que j'entends dire ailleurs, assez loin du discours public coincé entre prophètes et ayatollahs.
If I had known the two paragraphs about genAI in my article today would be so controversial, I would have expanded them a bit! Here's a rough transcript of the relevant portion of my interview with Swen Vincke, so everyone has all the context. (Full article here: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...)

A worth reading thread on why the EU is not lagging the US economically:

- GDP per capita is higher in the US, but so is the cost of living
- Europeans work fewer hours but have a similar productivity
- Europeans enjoy better living standards and have a lower carbon footprint
It has become received wisdom in Brussels and Washington that there is a new “euro-sclerosis”: that the EU economy is lagging the US

This view is wrong

A little primer on the measurement of productivity – and why reports of the economic death of Europe are greatly exaggerated🧵

Part of me feels like Dark Souls wouldn't have caught on if the first game had difficulty settings. It'd be "cheap", "pointless", etc.

Arcade games had a relatively granular difficulty option via credit feeding and it played a big part in them written off as "button mashers"/"quarter munchers".

Anyone out there that thinks driverless cars are the future are being duped.

These things will not solve traffic issues. They will only make it worse.

The only way to do that is a mix of improved public transport (trains, trams & buses) & active transport (walk or cycle).

Anything else is a con.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

Having a real good time with Absolum. It does an excellent job giving you new skills to toy with, and varied paths to explore.

Feels like a very clever iteration on the Streets of Rage formula, bringing it up to date. Solid stuff.

Vous vous plaignez de ne pas avoir de gouvernement, mais aux Etats-Unis c'est pire : ils en ont un.
This is a breathtaking abuse of the law and power by the President of the United States.

America is on the brink of martial law.

Do not be silent.
This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

EA is an ill omen for the American game industry and AAA in general for a number of reasons but #3 is one I've been thinking about a lot when commentators talk about indies picking up the pieces. Indies fundamentally can't provide enough jobs to sustain a professional game industry of scale.
before you say “well losing EA is no big loss”

1. shut the fuck up
2. people have families to feed
3. games such as hades only exist because the studio cofounders met while they were at EA. studios that make games you don’t like are still enormous institutions of gamedev experience and knowledge

Hi authors! Please remember to file a claim!
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you.
