Once again, a reminder that you now live in a country where there are two classes of citizenship, & approximately 26 million of us are being reminded on a regular basis by the far right authoritarian party that we have the lesser kind.

Too many people think "concentration camps" means "industrialized death camps" from the Holocaust.

Spain's reconcentration policy in Cuba herded 1/3 of the population.

This is not even the first time in our history. We just called them "internment camps" to self-soothe.
God the gall of @jaketapper.bsky.social lecturing that Minneapolis small business owner about the meaning of the word "concentration camp" while people are being crammed into poorly resourced buildings by the thousands and shuttled off never to be heard from again

Jan. 6 rioter pardoned by Trump is convicted of child molestation against 2 children

He attempted to keep one victim quiet by claiming he would receive $10 million from the Trump administration as restitution for former Jan. 6 defendants and would share the money with the victim in his will 😑🖕

This feels deeply dystopian and also so ridiculous you can’t even satirize it.
Waymo, Google’s autonomous vehicle company, and DoorDash have launched a pilot program that pays delivery workers, at least in one case, around $10 to travel to a parked Waymo and close its door that a previous passenger left open, according to a joint statement from the company given to 404 Media.
Waymo Is Getting DoorDashers to Close Doors on Self Driving Cars
The companies have launched a pilot program in Atlanta, where “during the rare event a vehicle door is left ajar, preventing the car from departing, nearby Dashers are notified, allowing Waymo to get ...

Although I have called this incredible blue cheese and avocado dip roquamole, I think it may be better made with St Agur than Roquefort. You don't need to serve subfusc blue corn tortilla chips with ...

sort of unrelated to this point, though not entirely: the fact that there's such a thing as professors of rare moths etc is one of humanity's crowning achievements to date and this is what the right wants to take away from you
Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".
