Democratic leadership didn’t want to stick their necks out for him. The GOP didn’t want him even referred to as a “Maryland man.” Sen. Chris Van Hollen, his congressional representative fought for him. And we should never forget any of this. apnews.com/article/abre...

I started getting reports of an unseasonal Joshua tree bloom in the last few weeks, and looking over records on @inaturalist.bsky.social it's pretty widespread! So we're putting out the call for folks to record this "bonus bloom" and help us study it 🌿

Phang: Bove knows he’s not a regular citizen anymore. Judges are bound by different rules of conduct than an average Joe or Jane citizen.

So for Bove to say that he was there in his “private capacity” or even his “public citizen” capacity is bunk and bullshit.

The algorithms are making it a lot harder to spread the word about these online talks. Although numbers are still reasonable, it would be a great help if folk were able to give the 30 December event a quick share 🙂

The photos were taken by the late Civil Rights photographer Matt Herron, and they depict Parks at the march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965—a five-day-long, 54-mile (87-kilometer) trek that is often credited with galvanizing political momentum for the U.S. Voting Rights Act of 1965.

It would be extremely powerful if you read this unedited proclamation by the US President on-air @chrislhayes.bsky.social.
Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

Do you realize how big a business Medicare and Medicaid is for PRIVATE insurance companies ?

That doctors are already quitting because what Medicaid and Medicare pays them is too low and the paper work is an overwhelming time and dollar suck ?
It’s time to end medical insurance companies and move to a single payer system that covers everyone.

Leave it in the hands of the corporations and it’s nothing but a con game to siphon billions a month out of public and private coffers and into the super-yachts of the filthy rich.
I hope the Dems realize that if they extend the ACA subsidies, and take no other steps, they are giving carte blanche to the biggest insurance companies and major hospital systems to find new ways to game the system and increase costs.

Actually the ACA propelled the buying up or the fare system.

And read my timeline
The current (and only) GOP plan is throw everyone off health insurance while allowing private equity to buy up the care system - how is this worse? Where is the criticism that the party in power doesn’t have a solution that doesn’t cause millions of Americans to go broke or go without?
