The last 24 hours I lurked on Twitter more than anytime since I quit it, and one thing dawned on me - I think there are a lot of libs who actually just enjoy "the fight" .. there is something cathartic about dunking or replying to a conservative making a dumb point, and you obviously lose that here
Bascially the worst outcome was for it to be someone not born here
WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump calls for reinvestigation of all Afghan refugees who entered under Biden admin after National Guard shooting.

This is a subtweet. Many progressives desperately want people to be miserable about the economy for [longstanding progressive critiques], so they're equally desperate to find ways to argue that the public's sudden, inexplicable economic negativity represents the public somehow waking up to reality.

It's basically the equivalent of betting as a professional athlete lol
Every profession has a cardinal sin that's sort of unique to that profession. "Fucking your reporting subject and then making up stories about his political opponent" is literally the worst thing you could do as a journalist lol.

Also, when you say people saying "Dems would win everywhere with a Mamdani-style platform," I think it's important to remember that that platform delivered the most charismatic candidate in recent history a whopping 50.4% of the vote against a street vigilante and actual vampire, in New York City

Wow I know everything about the pros and cons of AI chatbots now.

More of this. And while dangerous, Hegseth and Trump going after sitting senators at least has the effect of making them realize the stakes.
Gallego: "Donald Trump is gonna be gone in a couple years. And if you're part of the military that is going after sitting members of Congress and part of the weaponization of government, there will be consequences. Without a doubt."

We can't even get a "mass" exit by leftists and liberals from Twitter. The idea that there will be a backlash against AI, which is used everyday by hundreds of millions of people, is literally hilarious.
this is a bluesky bubble opinion. 800M+ people use chatgpt every week. I hate Facebook and Instagram and I wish they didn’t exist, but 3B and 2B people use them every month, respectively. it’s very hard to picture a mass or even a niche left backlash against them
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

My favorite variation of this is "they're forcing everyone to use it because nobody wants to".

Look at the app stores! These tools are incredibly popular!

John Mulaney's Horse in the Hospital joke remains the best explanation of the Trump administration. Trump doesn't have agency - he's just a force of nature / dumb fucking horse. It's up to everyone else to horse-proof their decisionmaking.
Crazy how much some media has normalized the idea that voters are taking a risk if they elect governors/mayors who will defy Trump. That he’ll threaten their funding, etc.

Try to imagine, say. Greg Abbott being asked if he’s worried that Biden will punish Texas over his lawsuits.

I will never really get over how Democrats addressed the "candidate old" by pressuring the freaking president to withdraw in unprecedented fashion and put forward his perfectly healthy and vibrant 60-year-old VP only for that not to matter to the press.

Trump really did a bait and switch with voters here. They thought they were getting a young 79 year old but it turns out hes an old 79 year old.
Credit where it’s due. But I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this new framing comes out after a Democratic wave election, the ascendance (and surprisingly broad acceptance) of Mamdani, and his steadily crashing poll numbers.

This is why Democrats need to actually be proactive instead of reactive on redistricting. These guys always balk or lie. Florida will eventually gerrymander AGAIN too. Every statewide democrat that isn't gerrymandering should be targeted with primaries, it's the number 1 most important issue.

First of all. This is a good thing. That Trump has done. (This might be my first praise in a year).

Secondly. Let’s recall what senior Congresisonal GOP leadership said the last time the president negotiated drug prices.

Well done people.
