The last 24 hours I lurked on Twitter more than anytime since I quit it, and one thing dawned on me - I think there are a lot of libs who actually just enjoy "the fight" .. there is something cathartic about dunking or replying to a conservative making a dumb point, and you obviously lose that here

Democrats should be gerrymandering every blue state or taking the steps to gerrymander and packing every state court where possible. You know, basically doing what Republicans have been doing for decades. If they aren't doing that, please stop pretending we're getting military tribunals.

Ya not sure what a lot of the other blue state governors are doing. JB Pritzker should have been on the offensive against Northwestern before this deal even got finalized.
That's what happened here in California. Newsom made a very public and very explicit threat to every university that he would cut state funding of any school that collaborated with Trump.

Trump and GOPers have correctly identified that there are essentially no consequences anymore for elites or politicians. Losing a midterm is not a "consequence" that's just normal politics. Until every Dem is actively pushing for REAL structural reforms, there is no chance there will be consequences

The only way to stop this for state govts to start going after the universities that do this and then for the next democratic admin to go after universities again too.
