The underlying principle of the Trump presidency is that rules are merely instruments of power with no inherent legitimacy. If Clinton or Obama had done this the GOP would have howled for impeachment, and they'd have been right.

I get @kasie.bsky.social’s outrage, but this is a problem CNN brought on themselves. They gave Scott Jennings a platform. A platform to lie. Jennings is an actor. He’s playing a role. He says things he doesn’t believe. And CNN is paying him to do that. Own it CNN. www.mediaite.com/media/news/b...
CNN's Hunt Stunned Over Jennings Calling Lutnick’s Epstein Lies A ‘PR Blunder'
CNN anchor Kasie Hunt slammed Scott Jennings for calling Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick's lack of candor about his relationship with Jeffery Epstein a "public relations blunder."

There’s no war.
The US wasn’t attacked, and isn’t under imminent threat.
Congress didn’t authorize it.
Treaties don’t allow it.
Drugs aren’t armaments.
Drug traffickers aren’t terrorists.
Even with all that, we don’t know these were all drug traffickers.
And even if they were, they’re low level.

Authoritarian governments always go after universities first, b/c free inquiry produces critics. Canceling Harvard’s military education programs and dressing it up as “building lethality” is about keeping future officers away from independent centers of thought that might question Trump’s power.

I hate him.

I can and should hate this malevolence.
All decent, loving, compassionate people should.
Every person claiming to care about what Jesus cared about should hate it.
Christians should be fighting it instead of cultivating it.

The big tech founder whose 417-foot, $500 million superyacht needs a 256-foot, $75 million superyacht to "shadow" it -- because the bigger yacht lacks a helipad -- had to cut his paper's newsroom almost in half, for reasons
NEWS: The cuts were so severe that at least one department head asked to leave The Post rather than be included in the planning.

Peter Finn, The Post's international editor, requested that he be laid off once he learned about the scope of the cuts to his section.

The accounts read remarkably similar to what's happening in Minneapolis.
