NPR just referred to the Trump regime’s “willingness to push the boundaries of the law.”
Trump keeps breaking laws, and the media keep saying he’s *almost* breaking laws.

According to Brian Stelter, 60 Minutes is finally airing the "Inside CECOT" story that Bari Weiss shelved.

She made Sharyn Alfonsi fly to DC to get an interview with Tom Homan and Kristi Noem for the segment, but both refused.

So it'll run tonight -- with no promotion and against the NFL playoffs.

It’s ironic that they’re like “if we do ethnic cleansing we’ll have a high trust neighborly society” and then Minneapolis is literally doing high trust neighborly society and they’re like nooooo
Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!

It's no wonder that "being a shitty neighbor" is the hallmark of our domestic politics and our foreign policy.

Never forget and never forgive the people who voted for this tyrant who rapes children.

Much like incentives for judges when enslavers kidnapped Black ppl in the north before the Civil War. Judges were paid more if they ruled a Black person was a “fugitive slave” & enslaved them vs. ruling they were a free Black person.

The systems are built to be maximize harm, beyond unjust laws.

Agents took his phone, which he tracked to a used electronics vending machine near an ICE detention center.

Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.

Have only gone to the big protests in Portland, which is still quite a few if you count all of them since 2017. Went to my first small/local anti-ICE protest today with my husband and youngest. Felt empowering to be out there. Way more honks than negative. They said there’s more showing up everyday.

It’s a lawless totalitarian occupation of an American city.
I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

I think a lot of Americans have (understandably) assumed that this kind of brutal randomized street-level "papers please" enforcement has been how ICE has always done business.

It very much was not, until the past year.
Can confirm I have personally seen three attempts just today of agents in a convoy of ICE vehicles trying to snatch random POCs along Central Ave - and then being chased off by neighbors with whistles. It's blatant racial profiling.

Minneapolis city council member says POC should stay home:
Dear neighbor,

HIGH ALERT‼️ If you are vulnerable to deportation please stay home today. I’m sorry to say this but it’s not safe to be outside. ICE is tearing families apart.

Children of immigrants please keep your family safe.

Oh, look. Another war crime.

We did a perfidy, which no one has done in so long that I don't even know how to properly make it a verb.

Perfidy goes back even before the Geneva Convention

It’s one of the older “laws of war”
Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

I really wish they would just say it. This gaslighting is it's own form of abuse. An implicit denial of our identity and dignity inherent to the question of constitutional protections.

Many Jim Crow laws denying the right to vote didn't name race either but they were still unconstitutional.
