I think we probably are still waiting for the first real disaster to happen due to llms. there's been plenty of small scales fuck ups, I'm less certain we've seen something with real effects yet

seems like this is equivalent to "try heroin so you know what it's like". I am aware the powerful narcotic heroin is supposed to be, like, _really_ good, I'm also aware it has significant downsides without feeling the need to try it myself
