it was similarly trivial. some rando registered a username with a slur in it, and a lot of people rightfully wanted to know how that was overlooked and how they were going to be addressing it. somehow, bluesky management’s PR skills have gotten worse since then.

for those who weren’t here yet, an anti-black racism incident was the first major issue bluesky management faced here. back then, jay simply chose to ignore us completely until people started talking about contacting her investors on linkedin.

I find it interesting that the TechCrunch piece does not mention Bluesky's hostility towards Black people, especially vocal Black women, and towards sex workers--the groups that built the platform, making an attractive alternative to people leaving Xwitter in droves last year.
