However bad the dysphoria I feel about my sexed anatomy, I push against the tendency to indulge misogynist language about it.

It's an easy shortcut to perceived 'masculinity' but I don't want to be the kind of guy who talks about female anatomy with disrespect, even if mine causes me distress.

I've been struck recently by how many slurs directed to trans folk, whether trans women or trans men, are based in misogyny. Slurs based on body parts, and rooted in disdain for both women's sexuality & bodily autonomy. On trans men, the purpose is to diminish, on trans women, it's to demonise.

GC Feminists don't like acknowledging it, but every single tactic they use mirrors prolife rhetoric.

'I couldn't get sterilised but children can if they say they're trans!'

=

'In one part of the hospital the wanted baby is alive and in another, they're killing the unwanted baby on a whim!'
It's very simple: you struggled to access your bodily autonomy, and eventually got it, and trans people did the same. Now you're using the arguments that were used to harm you, to harm others. That last part I cannot make sense of.

It's a good barometer of how horrific things are for trans folk in the UK that, for a long time, Linehan's belligerent obsession, seen here in full technicolour, meant that most GCs kept a wide berth from him, but are now feeling safe enough from consequences to tweet support for the hateful fool.
I can't believe someone flew to Arizona to interview Graham Linehan. Nobody comes out of it well

🧵/ Today a damning parliamentary report on the state of palliative care services in England was published.

Services are patchy, underfunded & “ill-equipped” to address end-of-life needs.

Bereavement support is “frequently inaccessible.

The palliative care workforce is in a “critical” situation”.

I don't think we're going to have a successful Amazon boycott till we break their monopoly on indie books.

They have a clever strategy to build their monopoly, which any functional government would have banned: if you want your indie book listed in Kindle Unlimited, you have to be exclusive. 🧵

This is the sort of study that, if GCs were honestly concerned about trans youth, would reassure.
However, they think the high percentage of folks who stay on HRT *is* the problem. It's not *just* that GCs leverage detransition - it's that they also consider successful transition a problem.
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. All women — Indigenous, sex worker, racialised, disabled, trans, queer, elder, maternal, single, married, childless, religious, poor etc — deserve to flourish in a world without men and governments policing their lives.

Weird how if you’re trans and 17 and seeking gender care you’re a “child,” but if you’re assaulted by a 57-year-old man you’re an “activist”

Today I was thinking about 'lefty' GCs regularly dismissing violence against trans women as 'just because they're SWs' and saying to trans women who disclose assault, "Well, you wanted to be a woman". I really think transmisogyny is the way 'GC feminists' give vent to their low view of *all* women.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

Fascist Reform leader Richard Tice would get REALLY upset if you shared this widely on all forms of social media so lots of people can keep it and bring it out before the next election to show that he is as big a liar as Keir Starmer.

So please don't, he would be *very* upset.

I just had my heart dragged from my body, shattered into stardust, and placed back into me joyful, full, and raw.

I watched Come See Me in the Good Light with my beloved.

I regret nothing.

Personal bodily autonomy is an absolute, and every effort to curtail it inevitably becomes mired in regressive conservativism. It's the basis for all appropropriate consent scenarios, including healthcare, work, & personal relationships.
Not your body? Accept that your opinion has no authority.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

I’m so fucking angry.
This is exactly what I’ve warned all you continual supporters of Labour about for years.

They have NOTHING for you- only threats that what follows is worse, as they appeal actively to the supporters of those evil policies.

Leave this rancid, ideologically hollowed out party.
This is the politics of blackmail. The alternative is not a Reform government. The alternative is maintaining our international commitments to being a compassionate nation

As a newcomer to Canada, discovering land acknowlegements has been humbling, and a really great way of keeping in mind my privileges and responsibilities, especially as a Brit.
collective memory is something you have to work at constantly, and the persistent drumbeat of land acknowledgements is an extremely valuable way to produce widespread consciousness of basic material fact of dispossession and genocide
my wokest opinion is that land acknowledgements are fine. people knowing a little bit about the land you're on, even if one isn't invested in a land back project, is not particularly worse than the status quo, even if one comes by this info in a way that is somewhat cringe and forced

Last night was particularly bad for night terrors, to the point where our little black cat came and soothed me like a gentle, nurturing sweetheart, with no velvet paw swiping sass at all.

Of course, emotionally the day after is usually the pits and she's now Madam Snooty McJudgystare again.

"If trans women are women, why not just say [pregnant] women?"

Transphobes love to demonise trans women as 'pushing themselves into women's spaces' but this is literally cis bigots completely vanishing pregnant trans masc and enby ppl, and making out that trans women are who this language is for. 🙄
Great to see @zackpolanski.bsky.social on @skynewsrss.bsky.social this morning standing up for trans people.

It’s clear that Trevor Phillips was trying to trap Zack by not giving him all the facts! Martine Croxall not only eye rolled, she changed a direct quote - unethical for a journalist!

I've made considerable content speaking about shifting the negative perception of masculinity by being a decent masculine person & it's always depressing when trans masc folk run headlong into a version of red-pill misogyny. We make a change by being the change, not by whining 'Not All Trans Mascs!'
