Too many people think of abuse as something to feel sorry for a woman about instead of something to be disgusted about an abusive man doing. This is why they approach such reports as whether or not she deserves sympathy as opposed to denouncing abusive behavior.

It will never be beneficial to "compromise" on human rights to garner acceptance & validation because in doing so you agree with the bigot who declared you subhuman & deserving of unique policing & fewer rights. They're never going to be satiated in depriving you of humanity & position among them.

Nor should anyone expect gratitude or cheers for doing so on their behalf.

This is the problem with the insistence to meet conservatives where they are & debate (& legitimize) their false, dehumanizing positions. It doesn't change their hearts, it only legitimizes their cruelty.

Remembering the time my uncle from a blue state suggested it was risky of me to have such a provocative pro-abortion sticker on my car in my red state because conservatives would do harm. I wasn't asking nicely then, I wont be asking nicely now & no one should be expected to do so for their humanity
This is why I've been pro-abortion since I was a child & why I've come to resent the "allies" who attempt to make concessions on bodily autonomy in hopes forced-birthers will become reasonable bigots allowing us a little reproductive freedom as a treat.
Again the question that always goes asking is why these guys sint just hire sex workers?

1 DR divorce doesn't work like this
2 She was w/ him for 20 yrs
3. She gave up her career at Boston College for him
4. While he was ill she had the power of attorney and stuck by him

So who is really the gold digger here?

i do like the contrast between a few people somewhat fairly pointing out men shouldn't get to pat themselves on the back for being a decent person vs hundreds of men going "i love working with women its so much better than any other job i've ever had"

the women in the workplace discourse is very funny because a man who can act normal in an office environment that's predominantly female is absolutely on easy street. it's maybe the best gig anyone in history has had. and yet for many guys it is utterly impossible

goes hand in hand with “can a man be normal to women online”

things are so good and easy if the answer is yes and still men trip over themselves to send unsolicited dick pics

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Did Knee-Jerk Contrarianism Ruin the New York Times?
Yep. Everyone denounced his original findings because it was *impossible* that sexual abuse could be happening in so many respectable middle class families.

And the false Oedipal theory persisted for a LONG time. It was still being treated as gospel as late as the sixties.

"Freud had actually started off as a supporter of the oppressed, initially working on the effects of trauma & bringing to light the sexual abuse that went on in families..."

The Oedipal complex was Freud's way of shifting responsibility for abuse back onto the abused.

Regarding backlash, how many are aware that Freud originally believed his patients, but when he presented a paper about the sexual abuse of children, he was rejected.

Yep. That's why 'After the Hunt' was such a flop critically and commercially. It was so obvious they were trying to critique a phenomenon which existed only in the producers fever dreams.
