Re: Spotify buying WhoSampled, and probably triggering many artists getting work taken down, I’ve just uploaded the original demo of my song Gray Lodge Wisdom (2013). I wish I could have refined this into an official release at the time, but I didn't want to risk it soundcloud.com/wstratton/gr...

I can’t believe people are still talking about this in this fashion over here. I’m sorry, but you are living in an alternate reality.
By the way if Platner was serious about his duty to the country and not just in it for the power, he'd have already stepped down. Republicans are gonna run "see they have Nazis too" ads in the general and he knows it and his team knows it but they don't care.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Look, I like the Geese record, but does he have to be singing in nearly every second of every song? I loved the instrumental sections of Heavy Metal, and they made the vocals hit harder, give me more of that please

Over the weekend we watched the first episode of The Lowdown, the new comedic neo noir-ish show set in Tulsa and starring Ethan Hawke. Very well written, great performances so far. Appropriately dusty and Chandleresque. Looking forward to seeing if the rest of the series holds up

My hometown of Bakersfield, CA is a strange place, and few understood it better than Kaleb Horton, a brilliant writer that I’m sad to hear died this week. RIP to a writer of tremendous talent, and a photographer with an eye for the Central Valley like no other. The world feels really fucked today.

Great picture, timely af, edge of yer seat action, top notch performances, looked amazing, laffs, car chases, this is everything you want from the movies. Young crowd was electric after it was over, PTA making cinephiles of Gen Z. You love to see it.

If you want to dress well this fall, imagine yourself as Big Jim Collie, a Scottish crofter in the 1970s who lived alone in a bothy and rode a rickety old bicycle through the Lairig Ghru, the highest mountain pass in the highest mountain range in Britain, while sustaining himself on a bit of dram.

Wow. New NBC poll finds 78% support vaccines, including 72% of independents and 67% of Republicans.

As I keep trying to argue, Democrats should polarize the shit out of the vaccine/public health debate. Make people take sides. It will split Republicans and MAGA.

See this:
Trump/RFK are decapitating our public health system, a pillar of American greatness. So Dem Govs should scour every corner of the law for creative new ways to defend their people from this madness.

Dems should polarize this debate to the max.

Thoughts on this here:

Lord, this is a sad story, with typically fantastic reporting by @hannahdreier.bsky.social — the brave people fending back wildfires frequently suffer cancers and other ills related to smoke exposure, but have no coverage if they work for a contractor www.nytimes.com/2025/09/07/u...

News flash: having Covid still blows. Woke up this morning with a neck/headache in the base of my skull, and can’t climb stairs without resting for 20 minutes afterward. A very stupid way to spend time
