An inferiority complex they wouldn’t have if we didn’t have to work twice as hard to get half as far. They don’t realize the strength they make us gain by default by denying us equal opportunity while rewarding themselves for mediocrity amongst the homogenous.

And to have someone who cares for you to advocate for you on things you don’t even realize you ignore that they see is tied to your health. Chronic problems that you’ve lived with so long it’s just your normal but they remember when it wasn’t the default.

I think the best advice I'd give anyone (man or woman) is to take a friend or loved one with you to your critical appointments.

Having someone there to listen with different thoughts/perspectives (or remind you of certain symptoms or occurrences you might forget) is invaluable.

As a parent of a child with autism, this isn’t just politics, it’s personal.

The federal gov’t firing special-needs staff in the Dept. of Education is a direct blow to families like mine. Our kids deserve better.
