Still adding & tweaking my topic-specific curation lists. New is 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗺 / 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 / 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, which covers all kinds of activism & will need to be subdivided. Tweaked 2 lists, now called 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 / 𝗨𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 / 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 and 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 / 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁 / 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 / 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹.

Just got off the phone with the President of Antifa. They said they have a cell in Florida that set up a fake tailoring shop, where they created this custom garment to humiliate Michael Flynn.

Sound like crimes against humanity to me. Hope ICE, DHS, CBP, Noem, Homan et al. are saving the receipts.

If the only problem w/ Noem's job performance was her diva-like behavior & nonstop mugging for the camera in a never-ending quest to boost her public profile, she might be tolerable. But decimating the ranks of career ICE leadership is unforgivable. So is her incompetence. And now the blankie?
Kristi Noem tried to fire a Coast Guard pilot for forgetting her blankie but then needed that pilot to fly her home

Let’s go Maryland Senate!
The Virginia Supreme Court has ruled that the state can put a redistricting plan on the ballot this spring that could add as many as four more Democratic seats in Congress.

The referendum will take place on April 21.

I haven't lived in my native Maryland since I went off to university 6 weeks after my 18th b'day, but decades later I still do my best to keep up w/ goings-on there. Sure would hate to see ICE take up residence in the Free State--'cuz ICE has no respect for freedom. See the OP for sign-up details.

Tomorrow is the hearing for HB 630.

This bill limits the conversion of warehouses into detention spaces.

While it doesn't stop ICE outright, it can limit their ability to use contractors & local resources to run these sites!

Your testimony is needed! Instructions below. 👇

This is somewhat more of an old-fashioned ICE ruse. Arguably this is a sign of the agency going back to more standard “targeted enforcement” tactics designed to be not as disruptive as the more recent aggro-style arrests. Watch for more like this to come.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

Ouch! Rep. McIver (D-NJ) didn't hold back while questioning acting ICE Director Todd Lyons: "How do you think Judgment Day will work for you w/ so much blood on your hands?" she asked Lyons. "I'm not going to entertain that question,” he replied. She later asked, “Do you think you’re going to hell?”
I’m fighting for every human being that this rogue, out-of-control agency has hurt, hunted down, imprisoned, and killed.

Harsh, perhaps. But, hey, after that viciously racist video clip he posted about the Obamas, turnabout seems like fair play. Note the rating at lower right. Can't forget about age appropriateness.
May be my new favorite sign.

Fantastic compilation of love-themed messages from across the US to remind Americans to keep their chins up, no matter how hard Trump & his cronies try to get us down.

Chances are there's a Visibility Brigade group showing "Rush Hour Resistance" somewhere near you. Check the website. Be seen.
Happy Valentine’s Day, all you fabulous leaders! ❤️ you all! Here’s a video compilation that Michelle did which includes many of your recent love-filled messages! Feeling such gratitude today!!

I wouldn't be surprised if the thought had indeed crossed Bari's mind. But, no, folks: This comment is satirical. No one's joking about the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC's "Today Show," a US morning chat program.
Yes, NBC out-rated us this week, but it’s completely unfair to compare us when one of their anchors’ mothers was kidnapped and none of ours were.

If ICE still stands for "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" then why do Republicans want them anywhere near a polling location?
Because lawless ICE goons are harassing, arresting, and murdering people who are citizens, you idiot.

No, they're not law yet--and with a little luck & a lot of pluck, these bills'll be stopped dead in their tracks down the line. States' rights, my arse. Yes, they can be used for good. But increasingly they're used to cause harm. Commenters call for Christian Nationalists to be thrown to the lions.

Pizza pies! Reminds me of the time I read about some folks from Jersey or NYC traveling in the Deep South. Hungry, they stopped at a pizza joint & ordered "2 pepperoni pies to go." The Southern belle at the counter replied, "I'm sorry, sir. We don't sell pie here. There's a bakery down the street."

Whenever I'm back Stateside & in the unwanted company of someone who says, "This is America. Speak English!", I have a habit of immediately switching to German.

More often than not, the Monos I encounter are the sort of apron-stringers who've never lived more than 50 miles from their birthplace.
“I’m mad I can’t understand Bad Bunny’s lyrics because they’re not in English”

my brother millions of metalheads around the world have been happily listening to incomprehensible Finnish shrieks and Japanese death grunts since we were teens, you’re just boring and racist

I've been a union member in 3 countries on 3 continents, though not in the UK. But I heartily agree w/ the sentiments expressed by London Mayor Khan & I wish the Trades Union Congress (TUC) all the best during its HeartsUnion week campaign (2/9-2/15) & into the future.
This Heart Unions week, I want to recognise the vital role trade unions play in representing working people across London.

I will always be a proud ally of our trade unions.

Interesting that private labels / store brands are the better choice in the UK. Homemade's best.

"Analysis highlighted a clear divide in performance across the market. Nearly half (48%) of manufacturer-branded soups exceeded the max salt target, compared to just 6% of supermarket own-label soups."
A single pack of soup can contain more salt than two McDonald’s cheeseburgers! 🚨

Soup is often viewed as a healthy, convenient lunch option - but how much salt are some soups hiding?

That’s what everyone with measles does. They go to the ER. Unfortunately, hospitals are full of newborns too young to be vaccinated; frail, older adults; and people who are immunocompromised. All can get incredibly sick or die from measles
Really scary to see the patient went to Children's National emergency department
So, the March for Life appears to have brought Measles to DC.
