Bought a knock-off Jadeite mug on ebay. It shattered when I poured coffee in it. I complained and got a condescending reply from the seller. I pray for this person's slow death.

What meaningless thing/experience are you still mad about? Like it should not matter at all, DOES not matter at all. But you’re still MAD.

And how long has it been?

I bought some bagels at Hy-Vee four years ago. So bad. Too big. Hard. Bland. WORTHLESS.

I’m still FURIOUS.

Let's not pretend that the first people to lecherously rub their hands together when genAI arrived were overworked creatives or white-collar workers in desperate need of e-mail summaries. It was businessmen not wanting to pay workers, followed by guys who take pictures of kids in playgrounds

Please remind us who the domestic terrorists are again.

1)You may remember the articles criticizing liberal students for their hesitancy to make friends with conservative students—alleging that they were less open-minded than their conservative counterparts.

We really need to teach the Paradox of Intolerance from an early age onwards
Tumblr Post by thoughtportal:
The Paradox of Tolerance disappears if you look at tolerance not as a moral standard, but as a social contract,
If someone does not abide by the terms of the contract, then they are not covered by it.
In other words: The intolerant are not following the rules of the social contract of mutual tolerance.
Since they have broken the terms of the contract, they are no longer covered by the contract, and their intoerlance should NOT be tolerated.
Tumblr response by commasameleon:
Sprry as someone who teaches rhetoric, this is a wonderful response to the Paradox of Tolerance. I cannot tell you how many times my students have had debates about this. This is the response. This does indeed fix it. I cannot wait to tell this to my classes now.
Philosophically and rhetorically this completely resolves the Paradox of Tolerance and I am floored by its simplicity and angry I never saw it before

Not to criticize, but "Chopping Mall" is a movie that raises more questions than it answers.

Okay, I don't know where this song was when I was at the height of my club-ness in the early-to-mid 2000s but I wish it had been there almost as much as I wish I hadn't been exposted to it last month because now it is in my head constantly.

Color me surprised! Guess maybe they didn't put two and two together in the moment...sorry if that turns out to be bad advice, but given their dealing in antiquities it seemed like a logical suggestion. Nevertheless: good luck!

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages
Business Insider headline reads: UPS is telling customers that their packages coming to the US are marked for destruction.

If this is what it took for you to be pushed into fascism you were probably already there
This predates the social media wars of the late 2010s: One Trump appointee told me that a radicalizing experience was being booted out of the Gawker comments section, way back in the day. But as progressive movements swept through social media, others were tossed off Twitter and Facebook for stepping over a variety of lines, from allegations of harassment to claims of election misinformation. Pandemic era public health rules and fevered enforcement cost others their accounts.

GenAI truly was the worst technology to come along at this moment.

An energy and water guzzler when we most urgently need to take climate action.

A disinformation machine as our journalism fails.

A bias machine as fascism takes root.

A job killer in a cost of living crisis.
