Overheard at the rink in Dallas just now:

"Is this a paper-less pressbox?"

"You're in Texas. This is just barely a firearm-less pressbox."

Kinda giving up on rural Minnesota? There's a US Senate seat up for grabs.

That's fine, but I'm a "and a host of others" man.

My favorite use of this word was in the mid-1970s by a college housemate who railed against the Milwaukee Brewers, (who had started out as the Seattle Pilots in 1969.)

"How can ya love a team like that? There's just no fuc*in' lore, man!"

I passed on the hides but did pick up a pair of boots and a pair of shoes cheap.

I stopped by the Thorogood Boots factory outlet in Merrill, WI last week and noticed that they were were selling half hides of 2nd quality boot leather for only $50. My understanding that they source their leather from the Seidel tannery in Milwaukee. Nice stuff but way too thick for books.

Wow, I had no idea. You'd think at least one of them would change their name to "Oh, Clare."

There's 3 Eau Claire Rivers in Wisconsin, hence this place's odd name. It's an especially gorgeous park now with the Fall colors and in the late Winter/early Spring when the water's real high

Since WCCO TV is owned by the CBS News and Stations Division, I don't think I'll be wasting my time watching until they clean up their act.

Promoting the editor-in-chief's personal side project. Zero named sources in a story that promotes the editor-in-chief's personal political position. Misspelling the subject's name. It took one day for CBS News to become a conservative blog.

I’ve come to the conclusion that you could file a pretty good disclosure complaint against Kupchella under Mn Statute 10A.201, subdivision 6 … except the new law is limited to state candidates. Would be good to extend to at least cities of the first class. www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cit...

The Fred Smith Concrete Park in Phillips is a stereo cameraperson's dream come true.
Glass and concrete figures of oxen, horses, dogs and people. The tall figure represents Paul Bunyan, and another shows a man driving a wagon while wearing a vintage Standard Oil gas pump crown on his head. Multiple figures and poses, mostly facing the camera. A team of clydesdales pulling a beer wagon. Detail showing two clydesdales with concrete hames and telephone wire insulators as manes.

Time for some 3-D Fun Pix of our quick Wisconsin trip.
You'll need red/blue glasses to see the stereo images.

Taken with a regular camera with two exposures offset left to right. Color separations, removing the red and green/blue channels of the separate images is done in Photoshop. #birds
