This is a BIG DEAL. Roswell used to be as conservative and stereotypically Southern as it gets. It's one of the most affluent parts of metro Atlanta.

But it's been liberalizing a lot the past 10-15 years, becoming instead a haven for upper-middle class professionals.
JUST IN: Democrats have flipped the mayor's office in Roswell, Georgia, in tonight's runoff.

GOP Mayor Kurt Wilson conceded earlier tonight to Mary Robichaux, the Dem challenging him.

(This is a city in the Atlanta suburbs, the 9th most populous city in Georgia.)

However, when a foreigner arrives to the U.S. we are *extremely* clear that they cannot be protected by their home country if they break our laws: they are completely subject

It's wild but not surprising that last week the White House was leaning into "these seditious Democrats dared suggest that troops were receiving illegal orders!!!" and this week they are scrambling to figure out who to blame for issuing illegal orders.

Tonight, we did something everyone counted out. We proved to a nation that states like Tennessee are still worth fighting for. The margin was close, and that can only be attributed to the thousands of volunteers who showed out. This is just the beginning.

I had to take 2 breaks while reading this book, but it’s very well written. We owe her. It’s the least we can do for her memory. There still seems to be a perception that when this happens to a male it is somehow worse than a female. It’s about Epstein/Maxwell heinous crimes, but also gender issues.

Good point from @swin24.bsky.social and team here: Trump and Hegseth suddenly refusing to take credit for the second strike, after they've spent weeks sadistically yukking it up over their killings, is a key tell:

My favorite Joni Mitchell song? Glad you asked! It’s actually two songs that bleed into each other: “People’s Parties/Same Situation” off Court and Spark

The open tuning of People’s Parties with the “I’m just living on nerves and feelings/ with a weak and a lazy mind” lyric knocks me out. Ahhh
