Lots of great replies here if you’re looking for ways to support the great work Mainers are doing to fight fascism and care for each other.
People of Maine, how can the rest of the country help you stand up the way MN successfully did?
ICE is changing tactics in Maine: "Now, the volunteers in Maine say federal agents have started showing up at their homes and intimidating them or threatening arrest. Some of them, masked and wearing tactical gear, have issued stark warnings not to follow them." www.pressherald.com/2026/01/23/i...

Last year, a human trafficking victim trapped in a crypto scam compound in the Golden Triangle region of Laos contacted me. He then proceeded to leak to me a huge collection of the compound's internal materials.

Then he had to get out alive. This is his story.

Minnesota should demand Greg Bovino's teeny tiny CBP vest and helmet and put it in the Historical Society next to the 28th Virginia's Confederate Battle Flag we also rightly own.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

if you're looking to learn about what are some of the lowest-hanging fruits in terms of local elections in places that directly help ICE, this is for you:
NEW: There are 2,400+ elections for DA & sheriff this year.

These matter hugely to criminal justice & policing—including: *these are often officials who decide ICE collaboration.*

So I took a dive into these 2,400+ races to identify early hotspots and battlegrounds.

Read, & check out our maps:
In Criminal Justice Elections This Year, ICE Contracts Are on the Hot Seat - Bolts
With roughly 2,400 elections for prosecutor and sheriff this year, Bolts reviews the map and early hotspots that will shape criminal punishment and law enforcement practices.

This is one of the things that I find is most shocking to people outside Minnesota who don’t realize it yet—the scale at which everyone who isn’t white has been forced into a spectrum of hiding.

Very good article drawing out the Tahrir Square comparison.

Signal is not compromised, period.

If you don’t believe me (and on this topic, you really should) believe the many members of the US Government who use it amongst themselves for subpoena-proof communications. If it were vulnerable they would know.
I think it is *incredibly* irresponsible for someone like @stonekettle.bsky.social, with a huge following, to claim that Signal is just as insecure as texts or other public social media.

This is a classic “making perfect the enemy of the good” error.
