Krake was not a snake man but he was named after a kind of snake that Major Bludd says is really cool and badass. It is not at all a real kind of snake, they completely made it up. So I thought it'd be fun if Krake was a snake man in a powered suit designed for Cobra Commander.

Major Bludd tells Krake that he is like a krake, the completely fictitious Australian snake that Chuck Dixon made up bc there aren't any actual snakes with names that weren't already taken by other Cobra guys/vehicles

I've decided to repurpose Armored Cobra Commander as a new version of Krake, the mysterious child soldier turned mercenary turned elite Cobra operative who became the new Commander in the IDW comics after Chuckles killed the old one.
