As others have said, no one is demanding mask mandates in all public places. A reasonable solution is to have mandates in places that clinically vulnerable people cannot avoid. Public transit, healthcare facilities, grocery stores and pharmacies. CLEAN THE AIR in schools and all other buildings.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

The entire incident is infuriating and terrifying. She’s a Latina woman who was working a service job. On her way home late at night, with her headphones in, she was detained for an hour by masked federal agents who wouldn’t give her their names.

Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street
earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip tied her.
Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk.
Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.

This is why it’s essential to steadily organize to decrease the scope & power of the entire prison industrial complex, even during Democrat-led admins. Immigration detention quotas (2009-2017) were a key aspect of Obama’s deportation strategy. Abolish ICE as a mainstream position is long overdue.

Another thing I wanted to mention abt AZ HB1070 - the txt was originally written by ALEC to benefit private prison comps that profit from increased immigration abductions & that used to have a guaranteed minimum quota ensuring a certain # of beds in their facilities would be filled each night.

Anyone in Boston an immigration lawyer or know one who can help this woman? Her husband is detained at Logan over a dismissed misdemeanor from 2017. He’s a legal resident of the US. She just asked for help an hour ago.
