How effective is healing magic (or science for the Sci-Fi crowd) in your setting?
Does it leave scars? Does it burn or itch when it kicks in?
What's the limit that a "basic" heal could remedy?

it also let's me make my own mechanics and test out fun ideas from other systems
Look y'all, DnD is designed and focuses on only a few things.
This is normal. Most TTRPGs are like that, there are not many that can do it all.
If you want to do something, and your game doesn't support it...you may have to use a different TTRPG.

I'm really pissed off now. No, I don't use gen AI and never fucking will. The level of disrespect to accuse everyone who works their asses off to write and create for TTRPGs of using AI and lying about it is a grave insult.
Make sure these fuckers never find a space in TTRPGs.
Make your own art. Even if it's rancid garbage, it's still better than a machine's hallucination.

Instantly the group spirals into talking amongst themselves about ridiculous upgrades. Always buys me about 30-45 minutes
I can't tell you how many times I've bought myself time to prep mid-session by putting a seemingly innocent door in front of my players!
What's your go-to player distraction technique?

My players unintentionally skipped the first 4 story hooks I threw them which initially threw me off but it ended up making for a good story because I rolled with it instead of forcing them back
If you could go back to the start of your last campaign (playing or running) what tip or bit of advice would you want to tell yourself?

While I understand some folks may feel exhausted by hearing about this;
This kind of thing has to be continually talked about and brought up so it CAN'T just go away like they want it to.
These companies want this to stop and be less painful for them, so-
Don't give them that.
These companies should not have any bearing on what people can create and make money from, and until they back off, we need to make it as painful as possible for them.

Instigator: I like to give the GM and other players opportunities to roleplay or do things
Schemer: I like setting up long term plans or goals and slowly achieving them
Explorer: I love lore, stories and discovering things in game

What is something kind that someone else at the table (player or GM) did for you that you remember fondly? Can be in-game or out of game (but related to the game in some way)

You can't say, 'I support trans people' and then take a big ol' bag of monies from the person who's sole mission is to bully, malign, discredit, harrass and damage them.
If you truly support trans people, you walk the fuck away.

I take great offense to those claims
I as a gay man have absolutely shown depictions of homophobia, racism and ableism in games as a way of demonstrating how horrid that behavior is, often not even exclusive to the "bad guy"

They are just as withdrawn but it's due to them not wanting to affect others with their magical experiments incase of fallout
@owlloverhoot.bsky.social: D&D Homebrew
Most Homebrewed settings dont go far enough with worldbuilding:
Completely reimagine shit.
Make GOBLINS more learned than ELVES.
Make EVERY GOD EVIL.
DO STUFF 10 YEAR OLD YOU WOULD LOVE.
Most of ya'll just reinventing LotR or GoT & that's a shame.

Use of Generative AI at a TTRPG table should be grounds for immediate expulsion from any game.
That includes GenAI Music, AI"Art" character Portraits, GenAI Maps, GenAI game modules, etc.
If you use that shit, you're killing the hobby, fuck ALL THE WAY off.
