Yeah, that's honestly insane. We were taught about some of our country's wrongdoings and our roles in things like the slave trade. But there was a lot of room for improvement. No mention of a lot of historical events that we either were to blame for or had a hand in.

Okay I thought my country was bad about teaching the shitty parts of our history but DAMN

It really is crazy how education is the US is. I was taught about that stuff and I'm from the UK!

I would've thought that'd be a huge part of US history education, given that it is kinda part of how a bunch of states ended up existing in the first place

I have a few superstitions that exist throughout the world, a lot of these beliefs are cultural and aren't universal.

- Don't grow grain next to berries lest they will rot
- Don't thread coins in mixed denominations, it brings bad fortune
- Write no spell on the 13th page of your spellbook

Also another note. I don't give a reward to a player that points out something that hurts another person's character or whatever. I just acknowledge that rule and thank them for the reminder. don't need people getting bitter about someone else pointing it out and being rewarded while they get harmed

I only do this if a system actually has something that I'm supposed to give out like that. I don't give out loot or better items or anything like that as reward for honesty and integrity because that's not fair. Inspiration and adversity tokens can be earned in many ways so everyone has a chance.

However if they point out something I forgot about that absolutely does not serve them well to point out (like miscalculated fall damage or forgetting to apply damage from a spell) I'll give them something as a reward for honesty and commitment to the game (like inspiration or adversity tokens)
December 5, 2025 at 10:57 PM
Yeah, for me it's entirely dependent on the system we're running and what was actually done.

If a player points out that another player has alert so none of my attacks should've been at advantage (public defender behaviour) I'll commend them and reroll my attacks.

For the good kind of know-it-all players (public defenders and people that remind me of rules even when it screws them over)... They get a reward of some kind (ex. inspiration for D&D) because I appreciate them learning the rules and not relying on me to remember everything

Nonono you didn't pressure me at all, I'm just a bit shy and nervous about posting my voice due to getting chased of insta because of it
December 1, 2025 at 11:57 PM
They do but I'm insecure about my voice 😭. I've been mocked and harassed because of it before.

Honestly though, I feel like I've made it sound a lot more interesting than it actually is
December 1, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Yeah haha, although it'll probably end up being 6+ posts so I don't know if I'll ever have the energy to write that 😅
December 1, 2025 at 11:38 PM
I have a really long winded response to this but I do not have the physical energy to write it all out 😭
December 1, 2025 at 11:23 PM
Yeah, I didn't think you were complaining.

It's so much fun because it's like one of those moments where a villain *just* gets away but the heroes have gotten the strategy down.
December 1, 2025 at 9:10 PM
I genuinely love these moments as both a player and a DM.

It is so much fun having a "not quite yet" moment.

It's like the reverse of the "everything is out of your favour but you claw victory from the jaws of defeat" moments.

I love them both but too much of either can cause issues

Save some for the rest of us... Or at least share it with the rest of us 🤭😂

As someone who probably legally counts as a goblin I am quadruply offended.

That person's behaviour is repulsive. Too lazy to learn a skill, too greedy to pay someone to do it, too prideful to admit to using the garbage machine.

Triple eww

For example, the "bind wounds" spell can only heal surface hit points whereas "greater regeneration" can heal both surface and deep hit points.
