Getting tired of constant video game remakes. Get new ideas or start doing the remakes with Muppets. Standard Muppet movie rules apply (1 human character and the rest are Muppets)

“.. Three years into the generative-ai wave, demand for the technology looks surprisingly flimsy.

“.. the employment-weighted share of Americans using ai at work has fallen by a percentage point, and now sits at 11% ..”

And I loved this game
For those worried about too many cutscenes/voiced character dialog in a Metroid game, go back and play Prime 3 (like I just did). It's shocking that every 10 mins you're talking with someone or getting radio calls. Not sure why IGN and other outlets seemed to just forget that?

The X-Files is genuinely a timelessly good show, because when not focusing on overarching conspiracy plot, they would really just focus on a single concept and quite crucially, it would cast an incredible actor to center the episode around who would be utterly god damn captivating to watch.

Maybe this is cheating for #RandomGameSaturday but I want to show it off. The Analogue 3D looks so goddamn good in 4K with all the filters and it's not made by an arms dealer.

A forgotten curiosity of LCD gaming is Tiger STIX, super compact LCD games with unusual control mechanisms. In this one, Shark Bite, you would propel the shark by moving the yellow end forward and backward, and steer the shark up and down by twisting the other end, trying to avoid trash and eat fish

Narrative design is seen as "expendable" because it's not "top-level game design", says BAFTA Breakthrough participant Cara Ellison. But narrative is "the thing that actually keeps people picking the controller back up."

"Your game's story or narrative, even if it's not a traditional narrative, is the thing that actually keeps people picking the controller back up"

Ready? Write this down.

Cook to temperature, not time.

Get an instant-read digital thermometer, and use it. If you don't own one, you should get one.

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Important to remind yourself during your Analogue 3D hype that this WAS still gaming’s awkward puberty into 3D era

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

The story about people holding electronics longer is interesting. My Steam Deck is years old and I still love it. I used a Pixel 8 and don't even know what the newer models have added and don't care. There's no reason to upgrade. No one is making anything different or cool.

Saw this coming a mile away, also rest assured that Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends is totally AI-free. Flip wanted to express his thoughts on AI in-game, but we couldn’t allow that much swearing without torching our ESRB rating #indiedev #indiegame

Once again, I am generally very non-alarmist with game content. My kids have played old Doom and Mortal Kombat. DO NOT LET THEM HAVE ROBLOX
If we have a kid we are absolutely forbidding Roblox. I know I will inevitably cave on a number of other stupid things all their little friends are doing, but this is a hard line in the sand that no amount of screaming will change.
Oh my god that is the worst possible answer
