My favorite anecdote about RevCom is that they went to Burning Man in 2010 and installed a bunch of wordless signs with Bob Avakian's face on it, including a large flashing neon Bob, in the hopes of "imprinting" upon the minds of the attendees.

I was curious about this, and not only is the Dover Lighthouse one of only three surviving lighthouses from the Roman period in the world, but it is also the most complete! The other two are the lightouse at Leptis Magna (Lybia), and the Tower of Hercules, in Spain.

Tower of Hercules, in La Coruña (Spain). Make no mistake, it's still a functioning lighthouse, the only Roman lighthouse (and the oldest) still in operation, but only 34.38 m of the tower is of Roman origin, and you're not seeing it. They're covered by a 1789 restoration, of which the remaining 21 m of the current tower are part.

Tower of Hercules. Roman foundations underneath the lightouse. Back then it was known as the "Farum Brigantium", and it is theorized that it was built at the end of the 1st century

The different construction periods of the Tower of Hercules: the original Roman lighthouse; when the interior structure was used as a defensive tower in the Middle Ages; and the 1788 restoration as a lighthouse, as it can be seen today.
