it's hard given like 6 separate people have accused me of supporting kid murder, but like, if we want to actually regulate these things effectively, we need to know what they are

Every time I go bisexual on main it becomes EXTREMELY clear that when some of y'all are picturing a slutty man you're just picturing, like, literally any man with his shirt off. Raise your standards. This is not a request.

I remember this episode of The West Wing.
A top Republican in Indiana, whose daughter has Down Syndrome, just announced he will be voting to block Trump’s gerrymandering after Trump used the R-word to insult people yesterday.

a religious person is capable of joking about their religion. religious people make anecdotes that never happened go viral and they still make the rounds almost a decade later.

Honestly "Don't Engage, Just Block" has transformed my social media experience so profoundly that it's hard for me to describe. It's just so much better to be online now.
i also liked the fact that most of us who had come from the other site had the mentality of not giving "bad actors" the benefit of the doubt on here , and told all to block, not mute, an move on

Important context! "Sprawling global organization with a lot of internal tradeoffs and private discussion" dealing with 2000 years of slowly evolving, often quite rigid, canon law and theology. Also big changes require global bishops councils (e.g. Vatican 2) not just THE POPE (tm).
A lot of folks don’t seem to understand that the Church predates modernity and that while it is, like everything in the world, in conversation with modernity, you can’t analyze it as a modern phenomenon

I’ll give a shit about the things he says to the White House press corps when the White House press corps learns how to walk out of a room, remotely defend itself, consistently ask a difficult question, or otherwise treat him how they treat any Black woman.

Proof it is possible to both agree and disagree with a post.

Turkey is substandard poultry. The flavor is strong enough to overpower a lot of spices but inferior to duck, chicken, pheasant, etc. Its best use is disrupting Massachusetts traffic.

But yes, if it is dry you are just shit at cooking.
Turkey is fucking delicious and if you don’t like turkey because think turkey is dry then you’re just bad at cooking turkey.

“Santa is secular”

Santa:
Saint Nick was based on Nicholas, bishop of Bari, an early Christian saint who gave gifts to people in secret, usually as a way to have done a good deed. The name Santa clause is a bastardization of Sinterklaas, a Germanic form of Saint Nick. It’s very Christian.

Final post on this I think. Here's a TL;DR of where I draw the line, given the global context. It's basically "The pope and cardinals get a pass on monogamy, US bishops and the US Conference of Bishops (lobbying arm) don't."
Papal statements on monogamy are dual messages because of that. And these are many of the same countries where LGBT rights are the least existent.

This is why I will, for example, criticize a US bishop making anti-poly statements, but I withhold judgment on a pope.
