One gets the impression Mike Johnson’s life is a rip off of The Ring but instead of the cursed vhs he must avoid any screen displaying a news clip or notification.
I made a feed, it's an ongoing collection of things Mike Johnson haven't seen or heard about.

SPOILER ALERT: she won't.
We are seeing a real time experiment as to whether Karoline Leavitt will be held to the same media outrage standard as Hillary Clinton.
conspiracy theories" over "schemes done out in the open and in some cases even reported by mainstream media" - feels like this is more disinfo meant to keep people off the ball.

i'd rather see harris' supporters go after vote suppression than turn into a dem version of QANON with this bullshit.
and palast isn't selling conspiracy theories like OP - palast is talking about vote suppression done right out in the open by republicans, something ppl like OP steadily ignore in favor of "elon hacked the voting machines" - honestly, i'm weirded out by ppl who'd rather embrace/peddle "unprovable
well-known accounts like @fleerultra.bsky.social and @spacetwinks.bsky.social probably don't encounter this but i (a humble li'l reply guy) remember getting blocked by sargent back on twitter/x just for LIKING a post where someone disagreed with his milquetoast bullshit.
lol the day after greg sargent yelled at me for not being sufficiently impressed with swalwell’s “fund ICE but make them remove the masks” proposal
This graph from a new AP-NORC poll out this week highlights a crucial point: The Democratic Party's favorability rating is so low today (when compared to the GOP's) because _Democrats_ are upset with the party, not because swing voters rate Ds more negatively than Rs. 1/3

Not being even vaguely sarcastic:

At some point, a journalist needs to ask Johnson “you regularly claim you have no idea what your own government is doing. If we take you at your word, how are you so poorly informed, and do you this level of ignorance should disqualify you as speaker?”
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.
reminder: good billionaires don't exist - never have, never will - no matter how they got that money, these motherfuckers legit think it makes them better than everyone else.

Trump and his agenda *are* deeply unpopular. This doesn’t do anything on it’s own. It is a resource with which we can do things.
it's the end of the week and i'm so exhausted by these fucking wormy dipshits that i don't even feel like looking for the "we're all out of ideas and we've tried nothing" GIF
every time poppinfresh stancil hits "post" he creates another hill he's ready to die on
i've always been pretty block happy but expect to break all previously held records in the coming weeks
while "smith" is a love story btwn a man and a country - sorry, that does nothing for me. credit where due though: jimmy stewart's filibuster at the end is one of the finest pieces of screen acting ever recorded.
as i've gotten out of the habit of raining on others' parades, i'll quietly say here that i have never especially cared for "mr smith goes to washington" - always found it forced and mechanical compared to its predecessor "mr deeds goes to town" + "deeds" is essentially a love story btwn 2 people

Trump is basically an insult comic, which means the only person that can defeat him is a drag queen
oh def - someone else i follow pointed out that homeland sec and the white house were here a few hours ago and i found their accounts and blocked 'em
on the plus side - arguing with nazis could give the #resistance gang something more useful to do with their time than relitigate the '24 election with leftists here.
"i'm in need of love" is still one of my favorite songs well over 40+ years after release

I blame the shrill pundits & journalists who spent the last couple years having heart palpitations over college students in keffiyehs but watched Trump with a disinterested shrug. I blame the Centrists for refusing to stand for something even when it became obvious what the morally correct side was.
didn't they actually try to do something with the VRA only to have Sinema and Manchin (both Democrats) derail it?

gotta love that big fucking tent that makes sure half the party is more worried about pissing off republicans than losing elections.

Euclidian zoning is one of the most impactful mechanisms of systemic inequality and, in addition to reforms for it, we should pass a Constitutional amendment mandating that every school district in the nation receive exactly equal per pupil funding.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

My most pessimistic days I feel like mayors and governors have no control over the police. There's a tacit understanding that the cops let people hold these offices, so long as they don't disrespect the cops too much. If that's true, it takes cowardice for a mayor or governor to accept that deal.
for me if i lived there it'd just be a hard "nope" to all of 'em.
i'm black and a guy saying that tip stuff at 29 is a big red flag for me and the victim blaming stuff regarding assault is also stupid - i'm not in ME so my opinion doesn't matter and this only means that as far as my (generally ignored) account here, i'll probably stop talking about the guy.
