One of many great reasons to shop locally and in person: you’ll find cool stuff that you don’t even know exists yet
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

learned today that charles dickens nicknamed his youngest son “Plorn”

well, not entirely true. the original nickname was Mr. Plornishmaroontigoonter which he then shortened to The Noble Plorn and then dropped the Noble part and later wrote about how Plorn seemed to have been “born without a groove”

designed by me & @gallerynucleus.bsky.social !!! There is so much good artwork that went into this movie and it's really awesome that they posted the whole book online. The website is really nice too, and the physical version.. lets just say it'll be worth a little wait!
"The Art of K-Pop Demon Hunters" artbook (physical) is coming in 2026.
In the meantime, here's the free digital version.

IMPORTANT: When transporting a giant puffball mushroom you have recently foraged, it is absolutely crucial that you ensure the mushroom is firmly strapped into the passenger seat of your car to guard against sharp braking and potential whiplash

Storyteller Academy is hosting a session on how "AI can help you be more creative, not less" and I REALLY expected better of them.

It's just really disappointing how easily some organizations who claim to help creative people have gotten both-sidesy on slop matters.

I used to be so frustrated that all the style advice was “don’t worry about it” and “just keep drawing.” I kept thinking “you don’t understand! how can I do that without a style??”

Now I feel like I’ve got more of a handle on my style, and my advice is: don’t worry about it, just keep drawing
It only took me until I was 40 to be like "ohhh my style is the process that feels like it flows the best for me and is replicable, that's it" could've saved so much time if I figured that out sooner.
