I flatly don't believe they've been able to mitigate the mental health issues, they're lying about that, but letting people form deep parasocial attachments with the chatbot it always going to end poorly and the more they encourage that the worse it'll get

They don't even understand the problem. Chatgpt doesn't have mental health issues, people do. You can't mitigate that. That you think you can just proves that you shouldn't be relaxing any safety restrictions.
